Review

Twilight is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change.

Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance.

To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires - James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) - come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life?

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Great first film

I first watched this film before I had read the books, and although I enjoyed the romance element of it I didn't fully "get" it. I was told to read the books, which I did and was hooked from page one, I then re-watched the film and completely fell in love with it now that I understood the back story to it.

Is pretty true to the book, one of the truest adaptations I have seen, although 1 scene is not from the book, and I would have liked to see a particular classroom scene from the book instead of what they did in the film (should have been blood typing rather than recycling scene)

If you are going to buy Twilight on DVD and you have been swept up in the Twilight Saga phenominem I would wholeheartedly suggest the 2 disc version because there are hours of extras which are really interesting. If extras don't bother you maybe go for the cheaper 1 disc edition

The characters are perfect choices and after reading the books then watching this and new moon i felt as if i'd seen the movie before from my experience of reading the book. They have captured meyer's world perfectly but, of course, it cannot be compared to the book. I feel the best picks were Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black and Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen. Of course, Robert Pattinson looks perfect when he is all edward-fied and just like the book explains. The extras are really great if you are a big fan and provide loads of facts and stuff a fan should need to know.
