A couple played by Charlotte Coleman (Lisa) and Dylan Moran (Ian) move back to Lisa's hometown: Lisa's dad isn't too keen on Ian and her ex-boyfriend kind of wants her back. Lisa has her job as a teacher (her ex is a teacher, too) and Ian finds a completely new profession as a photographer.
Some of the characters are very cruel and their actions are sometimes unbelievably mean (but that's the way it goes in small villages). But Lisa and Ian's love for each other carries through.
The series is slow paced and the humor is quite dark and bleak. There's not much laugh-out-loud moments but it will make you feel sort of happy.
