"First rule of gunrunning: never get shot with your own merchandise."

Based on actual events, this black action-thriller stars Nicholas Cage as international arms smuggler Uri Orlov with humble beginnings as a Soviet immigrant in 1970s Brooklyn, to his involvement in selling off the stockpiled arsenal of post-Cold War Ukraine to, among other top clients, the sadistic African dictator André Baptiste, Sr...

I hadn't really heard too much about this film, but thought i would give it a try.It has a brilliant storyline and the acting is excellent.A must buy for nicholas cage fans.It kind of reminds me of blood diamond.

 A brilliant film.

Cage was superb, really, really fantastic, this is the sort of stuff he does best. Even Jared Leto, the guy out of 30 seconds from Mars, broke the rule that musicians cant act. You even feel sympathy for Cage at the end, despite him being the baddy. A nice clip from amnesty international at the beginning, very humerous, and a much needed message. Hmm, I wonder if Bush or Blair ever saw this. Maybe that's why Blair left...=/

Nicolas cage stars in this amazing in-sight into gun running. You follow Uri Orlov's humble begginings as a soviet immigrant in brooklyn, USA to his eventual involvement in selling huge amounts of weapons, out of post war ukraine, all around the world. The film follows his ups, his downs and his family life. With it's great acting and even better screenplay, this 'must have' leads you into the sales of countless weapons, to countless warlords and the reprocutions that these sales bring (including run-ins with the law).

Amazing keeps you hooked until the end!

Excellent opening, Good acting, good film

Lord Of War has one of the greatest opening sequences to a film in modern years. The following of a bullet puts across a message without being patronising and hits home to the viewer. Nicholas Cage is very good as the cold arms dealer and has good support from Ethan Hawke and Jared Leto and Ian Holm. Good film, great lines and excellent message. 4/5
