Die Another Day to Casino Royale - the worst to the best???

| | See all Rockfan1973's reviews (155)

The last Brosnan film was absolute crud and it was a franchise killer as far as respect for the film series was concerned - Casino Royale was a respectable return to where Bond was always meant to be as James Bond 007: The worlds greatest secret agent who job is to serve his Queen and country!

I was not sure about Craig at first when the film was nearing it's theatre release but I am glad to say that it was a great film and Bond had returned to being gadget free.

  Best action Bond FIim

Good Film. Good action violence. Best James Bond Film. The age rating is okay 12 but because of the torture scene of James Bond and because of the the strong action violence the age rating should have been 15 years. The Film age rating is 12 and the back cover says Contains one scene of torture and strong action violence.

Good Film to watch.

  Bond Reinvented

Over the years Bond movies had become a little cheesy and so director Martin Campbell reinvents the spy in a grittier and more realistic portrayal taking audiences right back to the start.

The opening chase sequence must rank amongst the best movie openings in cinema history and will instantly grab the attention of most viewers. Fortunately the rest of the movie is almost as entertaining striking a good balance between developing Bond's character and including the car chases and explosions one would expect. Importantly Daniel Craig is also very good in his first Bond outing making Casino Royale a thrilling two hours of cinema.

Difficult to see him as an actor

As I know Daniel Craig's father and brother it was hard to see him in an acting role. He is an awesome actor though. But I don't enjoy James Bond or any action movies really.

  Best Bond?

I've seen most, if not all James Bond films, and I think this is up there with the best, maybe even the best. It's action packed from start to finish and Daniel Craig pulls off Bond better than I thought he would have.

The opening chase scene (after the first 5 mins scene) is very, very good and sets the pace for the entire movie. From the first 10mins I knew that I was in for a good 2 hours.

The new Bond girl is beautiful and a really good actress. The story is very vibrant and exciting and I didn't look at the clock once during the film. I was so involved with it and enjoying it that I didn't notice the time fly by. Oh and the poker scenes are just great in my eyes.

Daniel is perfect for the role. I wasn't sure at first when he was announced as the new Bond, but after watching his two films (this one and Quantum of Solace) I am very impressed. I can't wait for the third Bond now, which was announced last night for a release in late 2012.

Casino Royale is great all round, and deserves it's 5 star I have given it.

  Bond is losing it.

After countless Bond Films this one just shows that bond is now going down hill. The recent James Bond is not really that good in the role and the plots are just a bit silly and unbelivable. If they want to make Bond better they need to think of something fast!

never saw a bond movie before because i didn't really liked the principle and didn't bought all the hype.
as a fan of daniel craig, i forced myself to see this bond movie and wow, did it strike me. the first scene in the movie is a fantastic and mindgripping chase by james bond. no gadgets, no women, no jokes... just plain action. just great. and the rest of the movie also convinces: it's a good movie, even though it's a bond movie.

  Bond is back

Daniel Craig is just awesome, when they was looking for a new Bond I was really hoping for Clive Owen but kind of glad they didn't pick him. Bond is back with a bang, great story, great acting, one hell of a nice car, Aston Martin's just rule though. Everything about this film is just awesome. Daniel Craig has to be the best Bond ever.
