The biggest risk in life is not taking one....
The daughter of a brilliant but mentally disturbed mathematician, recently deceased, tries to come to grips with her possible inheritance: his insanity. Complicating matters are one of her father's ex-students who wants to search through his papers and her estranged sister who shows up to help settle his affairs...
Based on the work by playwright David Auburn, Gwyneth Paltrow reprises the role made famous in her appearance in the theatres of London's West End.

Not as dramatic as "A beautiful mind", but along the same lines: a brilliant mathematician who looses it over a complex problem. Highly recommended if you're into maths, or just interested in seeing how members of the "IQ elite" sometimes fail miserably. I've worked with mathematicians of serious caliber, and most of them are sane... but there are subtle personality details that this movie replicates very well.
