The thrilling Dollhouse reunites Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon (Firefly, Serenity) and Eliza Dushku (Angel). Echo is an 'Active' - someone whose memories have been wiped and replaced. Hired for nefarious gains, she acts with no memory of before. Can she rediscover her true identity before it's too late?

Confined between missions to a secret facility known as the "Dollhouse," Echo and the other Actives including Sierra (Dichen Lachman), are assigned engagements by Adelle Dewitt (Olivia Williams), one of the Dollhouse leaders. After each scenario, Echo, always under the watchful eye of her handler, Boyd Langton (Harry Lennix), returns to the mysterious Dollhouse where her thoughts, feelings, experiences and knowledge are erased by Topher Brink (Fran Kranz), the Dollhouse's genius programmer.

Top 100 Books Reviewer

You need to give this series a chance, the first 3/4 episodes are good but I admit they won't blow you're mind away, just wait though till you get into the stories which reveal the past of the dollhouse and when situations start getting more personal, the characters are played superbly espically the employees of the Dollhouse, (The tech guy is hilarious) and the dolls themselves, what really pushes this into greatness though is the 13th episode, which expands the world tenfold and sees the future of the world if the tech gets out there, it single-handly ensures the second series will be awesome.

Great show but you should know

Another great show from the master Joss whedon BUT the first few episodes are not as good as the rest of the season this is because of interference by the studio FOX which is behind the show. They wanted changes to some episodes and they are the few at the start. Luckly FOX backed off the rest of the season turned out great & they said they WON'T interfere with Joss Whedon's running of the show for season 2. So with great acting, action and so much more you have to check this show out.

Joss Whedon doing what he does best

Whedonites and non Whedonites unite. This is one dvd set you just can't miss, talk about extras. All Dollhouse fans are going to be holding on tight to their seats, especially once they get a load of the unaired original Pilot and episode 13. Granted Fox did make Whedon take a back seat for much of the first half of the season, but don't turn your back on it. Once Whedon takes the reigns it's one hell of a tv ride. So? Are you ready for your treatment?

I've always been a big fan of Joss Whedon so decided to give the show a try even though a few reviews i've seen have said that it was boring.
The idea behind the show is very creative, dolls or actives are imprinted with personalities to carry out fantasies or roles for clients.
Each episode uses Echo as a new doll role which I thought would make it hard to like a character as they keep changing, but the underlying theme of the show is what really makes a person. Echo plays a different role each episode but she is still there, developing connections which continue outside of her character state.
As the series progresses you learn more about the characters, how they came to be in the dollhouse, and who they were beforehand.
The first few episodes start off a little slow which is to be expected seen as they are explaining the dollhouse.
There is some good action scenes and it is well worth a watch, don't give up on it early on stick with it as the show grows and you should appreciate it.

I really did enjoy this series, a weak start which may have put off a few viewers but after Episode 4 things really did heat up. Eliza plays a great part and looks stunning as ever.
The Dollhouse is a organisation who use humans and wipe their minds and replace them with the minds of others making the Dolls into whatever the customer needs. With lots of twists and character development this really is one for the fans of Joss Whedon's projects.

Towards the end things really do get interesting and I am glad there is going to be a second series.
