The casting is just Perfect, casting of Sean Connery is Genius.
This is was also Nicolas Cages first step towards Action Hero Superstar status.
Ed Harris is also very good as the Bad Guy.
Director Michael Bay is in a more restraint form here as this is one of his earlier movies, before Armageddon, Pearl Harbour and Transformers.
But all his Trademarks are in place, Fast Editing, Rock Music, Orange Tints, Maximum Style and Breathtaking Action

Whats not to love about this film - its fast paced, full of action and has some top actors to boot

Its Cage and Connery vs Ed Harris in one of the most spectacular action movies of the 90s and didnt disappoint one bit. The plot was solid as was the action and typical of a Michael Bay movie had stunning special effects and high budget explosions to keep action junkies happy. If you liked "Con Air" or "Face Off" then you should have no problem enjoying this simply brilliant popcorn flick. Enjoy

This has to be one of the greatest action movies of all time with its non-stop action, edge of your seat explosions and a great cast and director.

Nic Cage and Sean Connery are great and work well as a team, they are like an odd-couple, the action the chases, the explosions, the gunfights are almost every minute. Michael Bay is a great director of his genre and certainly knows what he's doing.

This is a must for fans of Michael Bay's action flicks and fans of pure non stop action, excellent

Sean connery,nicholas cage and ed harris star in this huge blockbuster hit of the 90's.sean connery plays a man who once escaped alcatraz,but now has 2 break back in 2 stop psychotic ed harris and his team of men(equally psychotic!) from setting off rockets armed wiv deadly vx nervegas ova san fransisco.connery and cage work perfect 2geva,the action is fast and furious(check out the car chase between connery and cage),and the witty banter is superb,especially in the scene underneath alcatraz where connery is hanging upside down,and cage stupidly asks him if he is alrite?:-)so,if ur a fan of action films,check this 1 out,ur bound 2 b riveted 2 your seat!:-)
