Based on true events, on a secluded family farm and with a husband gone, the stress of family life is rising. Mom suffers a psychotic break due to postpartum depression that compels her to exterminate her four children, aged between 10 and 3 months.

Now hope for the family's survival rests on the shoulder of eldest son Jimmy, surrogate man of the house. Using his wits and intricate knowledge of the farm, Jimmy must try to protect his siblings while fending off the woman he has always known and loved as his mother. Thus, it comes down to the most epic of battles, Mother vs. Son, in the most horrific of scenarios.

I had heard about this film from other sites and have read a number of reviews around it .. some good .. some not so good. With that in mind I decided to view this with an open mind and make my own decision. First and foremost .. this was never gonna be a blockbuster and has minimal budget however the film itself is remarkably very engaging. The lead actress who suffers a psychotic break is convincing as are the children trying to escape her and you actually feel for not only the kids but also for the pain that the mom must be going through. It had me on the edge of my seat and my poor partners hand was blue!!!!! Again if you are going to watch this it is close to knuckle and not everyones cup of tea but go in with an open mind and you may just get that fix which all movie goers want ... a bloody good time.

I wish I could give this minus stars.

Don't be fooled by the front cover which seems to follow the theme of great horror/thrillers. In the first 5 mins I was scepticle and my gut was right on. It's only 70 mins long, but felt like 5 hours. Script was non-existant and the horrific parent killing her own children is beyond what I would classify as premis for a good film. AVOID THIS FILM AT ALL COSTS.

Top 100 Music Reviewer

As this starts off,it's clear the mother is depressed and struggling to not completely lose it,probably post natal depression.
She also suspects her somewhat emotionless husband of cheating. The father has to go away on a job and tells his oldest son that he will be the man of the house for a while and must look after his siblings, little does the father realise that the son will soon be fighting for all their lives.
So the mother finally snaps and starts killing her children, leaving the scared soon desperate and determined to save his sister.
The acting is passable to impressive, the mother is impressively played, very disturbing. It's an interesting story based on truth and highlights a very real threat of mental illness. This is very short at 1 hour 14 minutes, with the end credits being several minutes of that.
Some repulsed reviewers of this clearly missed the point,i don't see how it's offensive or sick,it just points out how someone can just flip sometimes and the whole thing ends in bloody carnage. It is disturbing, but it does it's job and does it well.

 Can't say I blamed her...

I tend to get horror/thriller DVD's in deals, sometimes they're a disappointment but sometimes they make their mark! This certainly made it's mark.

The story takes post natal depression to a whole new level. I thought the mother was played fantastically, far too convincing - like she's been there!

Pretty shocking. This was never going to be a high budget blockbuster but sometimes they're the best! Bit of a cheesy ending definately but so!

Worth a watch.

 Better than expected tense thriller

While neither a total B movie nor a serious look at post-partum depression, this should give anyone looking for a terrifying film a few good hours. Secluded on their broke, run down farm, the kids (giving better than average performances) wonder what to do as mum seems to be coming unglued, and Dad's away driving his truck. Until suddenly and very shockingly, she snaps. This is not a film for the easily offended (it is after all milking a 'true story' for thrills, like Wolf Creek etc) and the subject matter is VERY disturbing. It's buoyed along by a great performance from the lead actress, who bears a great similarity to Angelina Jolie in looks and mannerisms. The tension and set pieces are excellent, the violence terrible and shocking, and the pacing great. A very good film if you can overlook the change in its international title title (from 'Baby Blues' which confusingly pops up at start and end) and it's subject matter.
