    THE BEST OF THE TRILOGY
    MASTERPIECE
ONE OF THE GREATEST FILM EVER MADE.....

I concider myself to be a fan of most types of movie but fantasy has never really interested me until i watched the special editions of the lord of the rings, i watched the fellowship at the cinema and was not really that taken by it, following that a year on i watched the two towers and was WOWED by the whole thing, so then i proceeded and purchased a copy of the fellowship extended edition and was WOWED even more, yes we have a longer movie, longer it maybe but there is a lot more in this and tells more of the story.....

    Lets look at the movie

    Story.....
the story is about good against evil, ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL and in the darkness binds them.....
Sauron has fallen in battle but his evil spirit lives and the one ring was taken by Isildor who had then a chance to end evil by destroying the one ring in the chasm's of mount doom but does a U turn and keeps the ring for himself, the ring passed from Isildor to the creature Gollum who took the ring into the heart of the misty mountains were it there betrayed him and then was found by the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins of the Shire, from Bilbo it passed to Frodo from then he was bound on a mission to Rivendell with the aid of Sam, Merry and Pippin and the mysterious Strider/Aragorn. Presenting the ring at a secret council Frodo steps up to take the ring to mount doom with aid of Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir and his 3 hobbit companions the quest to mount doom then begins over mountains right the way through to the great river.
I will reveal no more as i want you to watch and enjoy this movie.....

    My opinion.....
My opinion is this is the Greatest of the 3, it starts well and ends right were the Two Towers starts, also it is a classic of its kind and deserved a lot more at the oscars, amazing movie middle earth was well and truly brought to life here, and one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever in a movie.....

    Effects.....
AMAZING how this movie did not get an oscar for this alone i will never know, as realistic as they come MIDDLE EARTH IS REAL.... well it is in this movie anyway.....

    Final say.....
ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL INDEED......

NO BODY TOSSES A DWARF.... AND HE WAS NOT KIDDING EITHER.....

     Best of the Series?

I've seen the trilogy so many times now, i must know the scripting virtually off by heart. A fantastic cast deliver in the films of the books as you follow the fellowship through a breathtaking adventure that draws the audiance in. A stunning film, and in my opinion, one of the better films of the trilogy. The Fellowship of the Ring reveals a much deeper story than the other 2, whilst offering that sense of adventure which really entertains. Summed up in a sentence, this film makes you think to yourself; 'Wow'.

     Absolutely amazing.

Nice to see that all books are not mangled when it comes to making them into films. Peter Jackson does a fantastic job throughout the whole film. This remains my favourite of the three films(even though it might have less action it's sequels) as it shows just what is at stake should the fellowships quest fail. The additional scenes essentially have produced a new movie, and the dvd extras are, unlike some other bonus additions, totally worthwhile.

     Beyond Breath-taking!

A magnificently beautiful film. Remaining loyal to the book, peter jackson has made a huge leap from his earlier (and fantastic) blood-soaked gore-fests (bad taste, meet the feebles and braindead) - keep your eye out for a cameo from lionel's mother from braindead as a hobbit in the extended version of this. The action is brilliant, the shots are stunning, the special effects are breath-taking, the acting is superb, and the music is beyond phonemenol. Definetly one of the greatest film (if not the greatest trilogy) since 2000. A must see!"

     In a word "brilliant"

Extremely true to the books, the three Lord Of the Rings films are absolutely superb. Brilliant special effects, excellent casting, you just can't criticise any element of the films at all. The extended versions are well worth it. They don't just add in meaningless shots, they add in critical story elements that were omitted from the cinema versions to keep the films a reasonable length. The additions change the light the story is portrayed in, and while not absolutely essential, add real depth. They can not be recommended highly enough. The books tell a huge story and long films are needed to retell the story accurately. Immerse yourself into the extended versions and you will find it well worth it.

     Terrific Film

This could be the bargain of the century! 4 DVDs, the actual film extended to over 200 minutes!....and all for £9.99

It really makes a difference with the deleted scenes included and makes the story clearer. treat yourself to all 3, you wont be disapointed!

     Well worth the extra

I was initially reluctant to go for the extended editions of these films as I hate breaking the flow of a movie by changing disks. However, I'm glad now that I made the upgrade.

First of all, the extended edition of the Fellowship of the Ring puts back some important plot elements which were dropped from the theatre version - most notably the scenes where the fellowship is given their gifts by Galadriel. There are other new scenes and some others are also extended.

Then you also get a DTS soundtrack thrown in - and if ever there was a movie designed to make the most of DTS this is it.

Finally, there are the extras - two whole disks of extras. I wouldn't normally recommend a DVD for the extras, but this is not the usual self-congratulary fluff you get with so many disks these days. Each disk is stuffed with a number of in depth documentaries covering all aspects of the film - sets, special effects, locations, cast - you name it. These can be played individually or all together, and they are full of humour and fascinating anecdotes - e.g. I bet you can't guess what a Galadrilight or a bigature is? You'll have to buy the disk if you want to know. It's clear that everybody had a lot of fun making the films.

It all adds up to a very good value package. If you want to see LOTR as it was meant to be see, this is the version for you.

This film was just about as interesting as blank cd?!

Its just to long! It takes a lot of patience to be able to watch this film. And now they have released an extended version with an extra 30mins =/ I make that about, 3h and 15m =|

I wouldn't bother with these films lol
