Russell T. Davies' first fully fledged TV creation also heralds the first starring role for a young Kate Winslet.

Three young students, Marcie, Reet and Thomas are suspicious when every child at their school is given a super-powered computer. Soon, the school bully is mutated into a hideous beast by his personal computer in only the start of what seems to be a plan for world domination... But, by whom? Could it be the sinister Mr Eldritch?

I was so excited when I came arross this DVD on here! Remember watching it when I was a kid and loving it! Was even more excited when I realized it was Russell T Davis who had done it! They really don't make kids TV like this anymore. Good scripting, interesting storylines, good acting, and lesbian/nazi high campery!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars CBBC Sci Fi at its finest

Quite possibly the finest drama series to grace the Children's BBC afternoon schedule, "Dark Season" makes it clear why Russell T.Davies was an inevitable choice to resurrect "Doctor Who".

This fantastically quirky early nineties sci-fi series presciently cast Kate Winslet in her first screen role and raised the (never-to-be-surpassed) bar for children's TV drama.

Great subject matter, tight scripting, a villain who was equal parts Billy Idol, Chris Packham (of Really Wild Show fame) and Christopher Walken as Max Zorin in "View To A Kill", child actors who could actually act and a horde of lesbian Nazis all thrown together with the technicolour dress sense of 1991: does TV get any better than this?
