well, it's brilliant, it still is as witty and intelligent and hilarious and ... as in series one. only, it's takes a little more time to get it going. if you have the patience -and don't worry: you'll have it- until episode four or five, well: you're heading for a full view in one session. the rollercoaster is taking up speed and looking for climax.... make sure you buy the special too, it sort of rounds up everything.
five stars for fun, laughing, and getting it done again.
I think I prefer series one more than series two.
The first two or three episodes are better than any in series one, but then it gets a tiny bit worse.
One character that really annoyed me, Holly's character, she is the worst thing in the whole of the series.
If you love series one, you will love this.
I eagerly awaited this coming out and although this is a late review - i still find this second series of Green Wing as funny , (if not funnier), as the first time i saw it. Guy Secretan is fantastic, as are most of the characters and Mark Heap is a genius. I often liken Green Wing to Scrubs as i think there are alot of similarities and the humour is kind of quirky - but if you're looking for a good laugh then you've found it right here!
... 6 main characters, that is, orbited by a veritable solar system of minor characters.
OK, down to business. Series 2 was definitely a disappointment compared with the free-ranging anarchy of the 1st run of shows. Where a 'sort-of' plot seemed to evolve out of the anarchy in Series 1, here it seems to be the main point and the anarchy is more or less tacked on. This is most evident in the first couple of episodes, and things definitely improve towards the end (and in the excellent one-off special that followed) but it's still a little unsettling for a while.
But hey! No show that stars Tamsin Grieg, Stephen Mangan and comic genius Mark Heap can ever be anything other than worthwhile-viewing. Just bear with it past those first faltering steps.
