Most men would do anything to get out of prison... But Michael Scofield would do anything he can to get in.

Created, written and executive produced by Paul Scheuring (A Man Apart), Prison Break also features considerable input from Hollywood action director, Brett Ratner.

Michael Schofield (Wentworth Miller) is a desperate man in a desperate situation. His brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), has been convicted of a sensational murder and subsequently put on death row in the Fox River State Penitentiary. Despite the overwhelming evidence against Lincoln, Michael is convinced of his innocence. With no other options and time running out, Michael holds up a bank to get himself sent down alongside his brother. Not just content to while away the hours until Lincoln's execution, Michael hatches a plan, helped in no small part by his skills as a structural engineer. With the blueprints to the prison in his possession, Michael plots an elaborate escape to break out Lincoln and prove his brother was framed.

I borrowed this boxset off a friend and within 8 episodes went out and bought it for myself. It is great. I missed it when it was originally shown on TV, and I must have steered clear of all the hype. This show really is groundbreaking, and I haven't enjoyed anything as much since 24 season 2. Fantastic cast, fastastic season, a must have for everyone.

The best TV series since '24'

I recently suffered a sudden bereavement when Sky One was taken from my cable TV package and I was no longer able to watch the remainder of 24 series 6. Then someone gave me this box set of Prison break which I hadn't seen on TV before. I was hooked from episode one! If you're one for edge-of-your-seat drama and haven't found this series yet you're missing out! The story is of a guy who gets himself sent to prison in order to rescue his wrongly convicted brother on death row. You will find it impossible to watch just one episode a time - I watched the whole lot in just over a week! Give it a go...

One of the finest shows on TV

Top 100 Books Reviewer

Admittedly because I can't get channel 5 I missed Prison Break when it first aired in the UK. I picked up this box set was absolutely compelled from episode 1. I found myself watching 5 in a row each day. Well scripted, well acted and some superb plot lines, this series will have you hooked from the start.

 the price is stupid

amazing tv programe
the the reason i am giving this dvd set only a four star rating is because of the stupid price
play.com are excellent but have made a mistake witht the price tag
this complete series 1 is £44.99
if you buy part 1 and part 2 separately you are saving yourself £5.01 as both part 1 and 2 are £14.99 each
this is completely true
save some money and don't get caught out by the price
buy parts 1 and 2 separtly save yourself over a fiver..

An absolute must see! Definitely worth chalking up some money for this! Once you watch an episode you cant just stop there its so addictive you have to go on to the next then the next then the next and so on. i cant wait for the game to be released. If you like any series like heroes, lost etc then this is 1 to add to it and i would say that this is the best out of all of them.
Watch it!
