Based on true events that took place in Tennessee during the 1800s, An American Haunting tells the story of the only documented case in U.S. history (validated by the State of Tennessee) in which a spirit caused a person's death. With over 20 books written on the subject, and a town that still lives in fear of the spirits' return, the story is terrifying.

I am not a film expert. All I am is a horror movie fan, and I liked the film. Maybe it is not the best horror film ever, but it kept me interested to the very end and even though I was never scared, the plot fascinated me and that's good enough for me. Maybe it's because the subject of demonic posessions is of special interest to me that I liked this film, but the bottom line is, I did, and I bet I am not the only one.
Rubbish

When i started watching this film i thought it would be really scary. it started off good, and you really get into it BUT at the end it really lets you down with it's awful twist. Thankfully i only borrowed it from a friend, so i didn't waste my money!!
