Hard Candy

Awesome peice of filmmaking, Ellen Page is absolutely brilliant in this film and gives a riveting and scary performance, the sweet young girl who becomes very dark and you worst nightmare. The story is simple but very good and very painfull. This is certainly worth watching.

'Hard Candy' is one of those films that refuses to stick to narrative ang generic conventions, so if your looking for an easy ride, think again. 'HC' is a bitter and twisted movie about a photographer and a sexual predator (Patrick Wilson) and 14 year old girl who 'falls' into his trap (Ellen Page).
There are two reasons why I enjoyed this film so much:
1. Because the narrative tables turns so quickly and brilliantly.
2. Ellen Page, she is definatly my favourite actress at the moment.
Her performance is painfully realistic, almost like she's used to doing this (you will understand what I mean when you watch it).
Page is definatly here to stay.
'HC' is a gripping low-budget psychological thriller that will make you cringe, clench your fists and make you want to watch it again and again.

wow wow wow what a performance by ellen page,she is superb in the recent film juno as well,she is one hell of an up and coming actress.the film is also very good and is sure to make whoever watches squirm and sweat at the mental torture she puts him through (deserved though!)go buy now!!!!

This film is really something different. It`s like taking one of Ingmar Bergman`s classic chamber plays and getting Michael Haneke to rewrite the script and direct it.
About a 14-year old girl drugging and taking full control over a paedophile trying to make him admit to his crimes, this movie is sure to be a shocker. Some of the scenes, including one where the girl tries out her skills as a surgeon, will be disturbing to watch for some viewers.
A movie like this, consisting mostly dialogue between two characters, demands a whole lot from the actors. Page and Wilson are both skilled actors but none of them are able to live up to this difficult task. Anyway this is a must-see, and definetely not the ordinary Hollywood stuff.

While its a very controversial topic, I thought this film was brilliant! It had such tension I found myself sat on the edge of my sofa, not for the feint hearted but worth a look if you have an open mind.
