Alex Grady (Roberts) an Oregan welder and widowed father of a 5-year-old son is chosen for the United States National Karate team. He finds himself in the company of of Tommy Lee (Rhee) a soft spoken Karate instructor and a mix of international colleagues. It's a team with rough edges that must be resolved if they're to win the international competition in the South Korean capital Seoul. The team's sponsor brings in an unorthodox trainer, Catherine Wade (Kirkland) to teach the men to focus. It is all to prepare for the ultimate battle and become the Best of the Best.

Awesome film the type you can watch over and over again and each time you watch it you want more and more to go take up martial arts.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars How Martial Arts films should be

Very rarely do you get a Martial Art film that has good stroyline to go with great action.
Phillip Rhee (write and actor) shows his talent in this well choreographed movie. It is about 5 Martial Artists who have been chosen to compete for American against Korea.
Alex (Eric Roberts), single father, had previously been injured and wants this more than anything.
Tommy's (Phillip Rhee) brother previous had been killed in the ring by the one person he has been pitted against.
Even the late Chris Penn stars, showing another side to him.
This has great fight scenes, a storyline that will pluck at the heartstrint (the ending especially) and brill 80's music (that is as funky as the Rocky soundtrack).
Watch out for the final scene against Tommy (Phillip Rhee) and Dahan (Simon Rhee).
