Suspense thriller based on the famous short story by master of fiction Ray Bradbury. In the year 2055, a technology has been invented that enables people to go back in time to hunt dinosaurs. When one such expedition to the Prehistoric past unwittingly makes a fatal mistake it dramatically impacts the course of evolution, setting off waves of destruction that ripple toward the modern world and unleashing an army of fearsome creatures that never should have existed. Two scientists race against time to fix the catastrophic error while their world collapses around them and every minute brings the human race closer to extinction.

A Sound of Thunder (2005) is a sci-fi thriller starring Edward Burns, Catherine McCormack, Jemima Rooper and Ben Kingsley.

This movie is based on a short story by Ray Bradbury but unfortunately any intelligent sci-fi has been replaced by rather drab and poorly filmed action scenes.

The main problem with this movie is that its so cheap looking. The effects are awful and look so fake. The actors look embarrassed as they stand in front of cheap looking green screens.

Edward Burns is an awkward leading man in an action movie while Oscar winner Ben Kingsley is completely wasted in a silly supporting role.

Peter Hyams (Timecop) has no idea how to build tension into his action scenes. Amazingly this movie had a very decent sized budget but Hyams has clearly wasted that budget with badly filmed and cheap looking action scenes.

Its not all Hyams fault though as the production company went bust and this movie was delayed in post-production for a year. This probably explains why it looks so cheap and nasty.

Possibly the worst film I have ever seen....FACT!

This film is absolutely terrible. I'd heard it was bad before I watched it but thought a film with Edward Burns and Sir Ben Kingsley in couldn't be all bad, how wrong I was. The special effects are appalling and you can tell Ed Burns is thinking "what the hell am I doing in this drivel?!" throughout the film.
If I could've given this film minus stars I would have done so but this is a warning to everybody who is thinking about watching this....don't, for gods sake don't do it!!.
If I had to say anything good about it then to be fair the story isn't actually that bad, if the effects had been good then maybe it would be alright, but they're not so it isn't.

Terrible, terrible film....stay away!!

 Rubbish

This film was boring, annoying and not believable. The graphics on it were so bad that i thought the movie had been made in the 1980's. I don't think even 7 years olds would enjoy this as it didn't captivate my imagination at all. I wasted 1 hour and 37 minuets of my life on this ridiculous film. I would recomend it to a bonfire and thats about it.

 An under-achieved masterpiece!!

Anyone who slates this film has clearly not watched it with an open mind. It has a brilliant story line and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into it.
Any films based around time travel always have flaws, because no one can really experience it. But this films does a hell of a job explaining all of the facts.
This movie obviously didn't have a high budget, (hense some bad graphics) but if you look past that, and watch it for it's true meaning. You will fully appreciate this outstanding film!

Watch it!!!!

A must have for any film fan
