The Prophecy: Prince John descends on Nottingham with a mysterious prisoner whose identity is closely guarded. Herne prophesises the death of King Richard and the existence of the strange prisoner, "one close to you" he tells Robin. The outlaws devise a plot to free the captive not realising why or what the impact his name will have on them all, especially Marion.

The Children of Israel: A Jewish merchant is owed a great deal of money by the Sheriff, who uses the precedent of the Jewish massacre in York to stir up a riot under cover of which he intends to murder Joshua de Talmont - thus avoiding his debt. The Sheriff and Gisburne pursue de Talmont and his family deep into Sherwood - to be confronted not only by Robin but by the powers of the sacred book.

Lord of the Trees: In the Sheriff's absence Gisburne hires a band of ruthless Flemish mercanariesled by a former companion Bertrand de Nivelle. their object is to finish Robin Hood. It is the time of 'The Blessing' - an ancient harvest rite ministered by Herne the Hunter. As no blood can be shed on the festival Robin must rely on cunning to frustrate Gisburne's plan.

The Enchantment: Lillith, an evil enchantress, bewitches Robin and persuades him to steal the sacred Silver Arrow, the symbol of freedom, from Herne's cave...

The Swords of Wayland (Parts 1 and 2): Robin and the outlaws leave Sherwood to defend a distant village from the Hounds of Lucifer, eerily clad horsemen who terrorise the neighbourhood. They are the servants of a powerful coven ruled by Morgwyn of Ravenscar. The coven's purpose is to find the seven swords of Wayland to use for a ritual invoking Lucifer - the devil. One of the seven swords is Albion, entrusted to Robin Hood by the mysterious hooded god of the forest Herne. Albion eventually falls into Morgwynõs hands and she bewitches the outlaws to turn against their leader. Robin is alone locked in combat with the most powerful forces of darkness.

The Greatest Enemy: The Sheriff, threatened by King John with the loss of office should he fail to finally dispose of Robin Hood, sets up a successful ambush. Only Robin, Marion and Much escape. Pursued by hounds and men at arms they are flushed out of Sherwood to make an armed stand on a rocky outcrop. Their arrows wreak havoc amidst the heavy forces besetting them yet there can be little hope. Is this the end of Robin Hood?

This series has everything; The music is spot on,the locations and sets are superb, Michael Praid is definitely the most georgous Robin of all time, not to mention the rest of the cast who are equally 'just right'.
The conversion to DVD has made this a set to last, good with surround sound and the big screen.
The only fault is there was not more.
