director Robert Altman has created a masterpiece in my opinion. I love everything about this movie mainly because of the period that it is set in which is the 1930's. Even though it is a murder mystery it is a relaxing piece of viewing. Beautifully made!

This a murder mystery that is really enjoyable, with stunning performances in particular by Maggie Smith and Helen Mirren. An all star cast that gives each character very interesting. Excellent extras too.

I saw Gosford Park a few years ago, and was entranced by the film, and am still a firm fan. The period setting and costumes are beautifully reproduced, and the script is wonderfully acted by an all-star cast, particularly Helen Mirren and Dame Maggie Smith. There aren't many films that manage to balance out the interaction between so many characters, but Gosford Park manages to make everyone interesting.
My only gripe is that the film does drag a little, particularly while setting up the murder. Also people may feel dissapointed by the lack of action in a 'murder mystery' - this is much more a character piece than a cluedo style thriller.

I love Murder Mysteries, and I like period films, so when I saw Gosford Park, you could say I was a bit excited. However, I was EXTREMELY disapointed! I found it was an ultimate drag, it felt like it was on for hours on end, and there wasn't a lot going on in the movie.

A boring film throughout, with an even more boring and rubbish ending. Not worth your pennies.
