Ok, firstly, how to you take this seriously. I mean, the BBC say that the IPCC are the worlds top 2,500 scientists (they're not, but for the purpose of this, let's say they are), the IPCC originally said 6 inches of sea level rise, then they changed it to 2 feet. So I have no idea where Al Gore got his 20 feet from. If the science is settled, why the confusion??
Secondly, this man needs to practice what he preaches. He flies all over the world in a private jet, and just one of his houses uses 20 times more energy than your average household. But sure, he offsets, right??. . .which brings us to the third reason why you can't believe it. He OWNS the company he offsets through. He's a salesman, not a scientist. He's trying to convince you to buy his product. It's like a spirit level salesman telling you that your wall ain't straight, even though the spirit level you've got is telling you it is straight.
I don't want to go into the science of it, but the numbers are so small they are laughable. I mean, CO2 makes up less than 4% of the greenhouse gasses (of which only around 10% are man-made). Greenhouse gasses make up 1% of the atmosphere. The most abundant and radiative greenhouse gas is water vapour, which makes up 95% of the greenhouse gasses (and you thought Honda's hydrogen car that only emits water vapour was good for the environment). It really is laughable.
If you don't believe anything I've said here, just Google it. And then Google "30,000 scientists" to see that the IPCC are really not the top 2,500 scientists in the world, and that the science is far from settled.
And instead of getting this DVD, get The Great Global Warming Swindle DVD, Scared to Death: From BSE to Global Warming: How Scares are Costing Us the Earth by Chris Booker & Rich North, An Appeal to Reason: A Cool Look at Global Warming by Nigel Lawson, and Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Force, Fraud, and Deception to Keep You Misinformed by Chris Horner.
Giving this DVD one star is giving it too much credit. If I could give is less, I would.
The only thing good I have to say about it is, Laurence Bender. He's produced some of the best movies ever, namely Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and The Mexican. Sadly, this is not one of his best movies.
