Robert Thorn is a senior American diplomat whose wife, Katherine, endures a difficult delivery where their newborn child has died. Thorn knows the news will devastate Katherine, who had suffered two previous miscarriages. The hospital priest presents Thorn with another child born that night, whose mother died in childbirth. The priest compels Thorn to take the infant boy as his own; Katherine will never know the truth, and their son, which they name Damien, will be raised as their flesh and blood. As the child turns five, unsettling events begin to occur: Damien's nanny hangs herself at the youngster's birthday party; a strange priest brings dire warnings to Thorn; a children's trip to the zoo results in a panicked frenzy; Damien becomes hysterical during a drive to church; and blurred movements in a series of photographs portend shocking deaths. Enter Mrs. Baylock, Damien's new nanny, who seems to have a preordained devotion to the child. Then tragedy strikes closer to home. But only later does Thorn comprehend the truth: Damien is no ordinary child; he is the long-prophesized Anti-Christ. Now, Thorn must make the ultimate sacrifice to prevent the unspeakable terror that awaits the world.

This was classed as a horror film but I have one question. WHERE WAS THE HORROR?
I get scared very easy with horror films but this didnt at all.
I expected more from this film.
Little kids wouldnt be scared of this.

 A POINLESS REMAKE!

Whats the point of remaking the classic original scene for scene, but to none of the affect. This is just so dull, they even screw up the Animal's going crazy sequence by instead using men dressed up as apes. But the iconic Decapitation sequence of the original is pretty well handled in this otherwise very dull remake.
It's worth watching if your a fan of the original, if just to pick fault with it.
Otherwise it's all pretty pointless and uninspired !

 Pointless Remake

Yet another pointless waste of time re-make of a classic horror movie that does not need to be remade in the first place.

Good start, but the rest of the movie is basically a scene-by-scene copy of the original but with different actors and locations.
There are the occasional scares to be had with the dream sequences which are quite good and did make me jump.

Most of the actors are either miscast (the cute and lovely Mia Farrow is nowhere near as menacing and creey as Billie Whitelaw) or boring and emotionless, and you just do not care for the characters, although David Thewlis (the photographer) and Pete Postlethwaite (the Priest) both put in a good performance.

This effort is purely a cash-in on the fact that it was the 30th anniversary of the original and hyped up because of it's release date which was on 06.06.2006 (666).

Don't bother with this unless you get The Omen Pentology boxset which includes all the original movies and the remake.
