The blood coursing through Blade's veins is half-human, half-vampire, the result of a vampire attack on his mother before he was born. Blade has been working with Scud, a brilliant slacker and inventor of devious weapons, to destroy any vampires that cross their paths. The hunt for vampires takes them to the lair of Blade's sworn enemy - Vampire overlord Damaskinos, who now needs Blade to deal with a far more deadly threat than either has ever faced before. Nyssa Damaskinos's strong and darkly exotic daughter, and her co-warrior, Asad come to meet Blade to formalise a truce. They will have to work together to stop the Reapers, a Super race of vampires. A mutated form of their vampire predecessors, the Reapers are infiltrating humanity and vampires alike with the reaper strain that will leave thousands of carriers roaming the streets in just a short time. The infected trail leads back to Patient Zero, Jared Nomak and Blade must destroy him before he and the Reapers destroy the human race.

Much as I enjoyed 'Blade' I would definitely rate the sequel as a far superior film. Directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy) the tone of the film is pitch perfect and, with the Reapers, we have one of the best designed movie monsters in years. Wesley Snipes continues to refine his ultra cool persona as the eponymous Blade and the action and FX are breathtaking. Sure, at times the CGI stuntmen look a little too obvious lacking the necessary weight to give them total credibility but this being a comic book adaptation it just heightens the unreal quality of the whole thing. Biggest suprise though has to be from Luke Goss as head vampire Nomak. Looking far removed from the clean-cut posterboy of pop band Bros! the answer to their most famous song 'When Will I Be Famous?' is sure to be as soon as possible. With a forthcoming appearance in Del Toro's 'Hellboy' sequel the future certainly looks bright for him. The DVD itself is packed full of juicy goodness with an exhaustively comprehensive making of documentary, a fascinating commentary from Del Toro and tonnes of fascinating behind the scenes footage of the design and manufacture of the fantastic creature effects. Del Toro knows how to make a quality comic book adaptation, with this and 'Hellboy' he proves he can handle the material with style and utilise SFX and CGI sparingly so as not to swamp the finished product. Darker, dirtier, more action packed and violent than the original 'Blade II' is a superb example in how to craft a quality sequel...

 Best Blade

I loved the first film but when i'd seen they had done a sequel to blade i was upset then i saw it and my god it was brilliant.

Del toro has made the difinitive vampire movie and one of/if not the best sequel in history because he took the charcters from the first film and fleshed them out even more

Well worth your money PLEASE BUY!!!!!!!!

This is even better than the original excellent Blade.
The film has a better plot and the new hybrid vampire is very scary. This character was made for Snipes, he just oozes cool. The action is breathtaking and bone crunching. The violence is off the scale, and the soundtrack is a dance floor classic, upping the action scenes to a frenzy. The twist of Blade teaming up with vampires to fight the new hybrid ( Reapers ) adds to the tension,as Blade can't trust anybody. But the real star is the head Reaper Played by the drummer of the 80's boy band BROS ! in the end you end up feeling sorry for this monster creation. This is the best Blade movie by far, and can stand up with SUPERMAN RETURNS, THE SPIDERMAN TRILOGY and BATMAN BEGINS as the best comic book to film adaption ever.A heart pumping gore-fest classic. 10 out of 10 !
