Forget Romeo and Juliet, this is a landmark piece in the telling of love stories, crime thrillers and great character chemistry.
The characters are all brilliant, be it short cameo's from Brad Pitt or Gary Oldman, or the main parts played by Patricia Arquette and Christian Slater.
The film is truly Tarantino, with the 'Sicilian scene' an absolute classic, in the same vein as 'Like a virgin' from Reservoir Dogs and the 'Biblical scene' in Pulp Fiction. Also a noteable scene is with James Gandolfini and Patricia Arquette; which is why Gandolfini was chosen to play the character of Tony in the Sopranos.
This film is one of my all time favourites, brilliantly written, cast, acted and directed. The musical score by Hans Zimmer is fantastic, a glimpse of beauty in amongst all of the drugs and violence. A classic love story. and epic crime thriller, and through and through one of the best films of the 90's if not ever.
