I Am Sam (2001)

A very emotional and touching little movie.
The story is pretty unusual about a Father & Daughters love for each other, in some very difficult circumstances.
It is told in nice and easy to watch manner, though like mentioned earlier, it does pull at the Heart Strings.
Michelle Pfeiffer is good as the Ice Queen Lawyer who melts as the story goes along, but this is Sean Penn's movie all the way.
He just gives an AMAZING performance.
A MUST WATCH for fans of Sean Penn, and everybody else should give it go aswell.

I love this film, i saw it on Film4 and i love it. It's got a real meaning to it. Sean Penn is excellent in it.

This should be required viewing for all those do-gooders and social busybodies who want to interfere in other peoples' lives without looking at the consequences of their actions!! A wonderful film, full of heart-wrenching moments and fantastic acting esp. Dakota Fanning as Lucy.

This film is sooo lovely, you are heartless if you don't cry at this fantastically made film. Sean Penn is a wonderful actor in this. It is a definite must see..and should be on everyone's list of films to see before they die!!!

Over looked, underrated, genius. Some words that could be used to describe sean penn's fantastic acting ability. Master of his craft and this performance rivals his triumph in dead man walking. The film is far more deserving of success than the much more successful in pursuit of happyness, the acting is a masterclass the script is spot on and it will tug at the heart strings without pathos or shameless pandering. The film will make you cheer and laugh and cry. You will see pain flicker across every dad's face when they watch this, unflinching and totally beautiful movie. A must see for everyone.
