Spider-Man (2002) (2 Discs)

at last a comic book turned into a very good movie.cant wait for anymore.

This is a great movie, I much prefer it to other movies derived from comic books such as Batman and Fantastic Four. I think the charm is that Peter Parker is a normal guy, and Toby Maguire is perfectly cast to play him. The special effects are awesome and the plot doesn't dwindle unlike some other comic book films which have just had special effects thrown at them in hope that it works, this movie has a great story to it.

A must see - my favourite comic book film

This film raised the bar of the comic book to film adaptions. Sam Raimi directs a brilliant cast and a excellent first chapter. All the characters a well written and all very human in a comic book world. Raimi directs with conviction and never lets the film slip into the unrealistic, even if the subject matter is from comic books roots. The only thing that lets the film down is the computer generated spiderman, at times it is all too obviouse that he is generated, as he seems not to carry any weight when landing. And the Goblin looks like a Power Ranger on acid ! but these are minor problems to a excellent film, and these minor quibbles are correct in chapter 2. A excellent comic book movie.

Marvel conversions of comic books to film can either go right or wrong- this one, unlike the poor reception that was felt by 'The Hulk' went down pretty well. The special effects aren't overdone, and Peter Parker's story is told and introduced interestingly, setting it up for the next 2 movies,full with action and MaryJane. An overall good film!
