Andie Walsh is a bright, sensitive girl with a second hand wardrobe and three men in her life.

First there is her father. He doesn't work and has been going steadily downhill since his wife left him. There is Ducky Dale (marvellously played by Jon Cryer). He's a pal of Andie's and he's got an intense, unrequited crush on her. The there's Blane McDonough, a cute, rich preppie. He and Andie come from opposite sides of the tracks. So when they fall in love, the differences between them (he drives a BMW and she's ashamed of where she lives) bring barriers to their romance.

The soundtrack features hits from a host of artists including The Psychedelic Furs, John Lennon, New Order, Nik Kershaw, OMD, Echo and the Bunnymen, INXS, Otis Redding, The Smiths, Suzanne Vega and Talk Back.

This is a classic 80's movie from the ultimate king of 80's movies John Hughes and starring some of the immortal Brat Pack Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy.
Molly Ringwald plays Andie a young girl who comes from a poor background she falls in love with rich kid Blane (Andrew McCarthy) but there are many complications along the way his stuck up rich friends,Her obsessed stalker Duckie (Jon Cryer),And his inability to stand up to the rich kids who hate the poor new wave kids.
This film is an absolute classic the moment she sets out to the prom and cant go in and she sees her friend Duckie braving the same situation gives her the courage to go in and face her tormenters. That moment is the best scene in the film this is a really good chick flick and anyone who loves 80's movies must have this classic in their collection.

Your classic 'girl from the wrong side of the tracks falls for handsome rich guy' 80s romantic comedy.
A real feel-good movie, that I watch over and over again and am still yet to get bored of. I first saw this film when I was very young, and my teenage siblings seemed to watch it endlessly, but I rediscovered it a few years ago, and instantly fell in love with it all over again.
Definitely worth a watch for any 80s child looking for a bit of nostalgia,

This is a typical chick flick, but i have to admit that its not a bad film. Basically a reversed version of some kind of wonderful!! Classic film.
