Bought this in February 2002 from Play for the some of £11.99 - worth every penny and although difficult to choose one's favourite movie, this easily ticks the boxes for best 80s movie and best teen flick. I'm a great Mary Stuart Masterson fan anyway. This possibly her best performance - the only exception being her performance of Joon alongside Johnny Depp's Benny in the charming Benny & Joon. I'm a bloke but the anguish of teen love and pain is plain for all to see - predictable ending but so what? The movie doesn't suffer for that. Strong performances from all the cast with Elias Koteas show-stealing turn as the bad-boy with a conscience.

Typical tale of boy from wrong side of the tracks who falls for popular babe. This kind of storyline was done so well in the 80's... This is yet another classic film and the soundtrack's great aswell.

Another John Hughes classic, sure thing one when it first come out 20 years ago and thought it was brilliant. When I saw it have been released on DVD I had to get it. This is a great film, a good for the romantics, just enough comedy to detract from the story but keep the guys interested and a great sound track.
If your between the age of 30 and 40 this will bring back some great memories.

Easily my favourite within the John Hughes family. The story is a familiar one, girl fancies boy, boy fancies another girl etc. but is still well made.
The cast was well picked and believable in their roles. The soundtrack also fits in well with the film.
