Lucas ditches Binks and gives us what we want-full on action, laughter and thrills. There are so many excellent set-pieces that it is difficult to choose between them all. The fighter chase between Jango Fett and Obiwan is an awesome spectacle; the slight gap in sound before the enormous explosions set off by Jango's mines keeps the ears ringing for days.
As always Lucas saves his best for last. This time the interweaving climax stretches for an eternity; marvel heaped upon marvel. The factory, the Harryhausen-like arena, the Jedi, an all out land and air battle, and finally a deadly confrontation with the Sith, more than makes up for the lacklustre Phantom Menace. Add to this the Death Star revelation that Lucas expertly kept up his sleeve and this is Star Wars back on track. Magic.
THE FORCE IS STRONGER WITH THIS ONE !

This is more like the Star Wars we know and love. Gone is the kiddy friendly approach. and into a much darker universe we tread. Anakin is much older and this time played by Hayden Christensen. This guy is a good choice for the now troubled Anakin ,as he deals with the seduction of the dark side in a convincing manner. McGreggor has evolved in to a much more convincing OBIWAN. and even Portman has a little bit more to do this time aound, and Samuel L. Jackson is still the most "BADD ASS !" Jedi in the universe. But again the film is let down by very clunky diologue, Lucas knows how to write a action scene but he could not write convincing diologue if his life depended on it ! Some of the characters from the previouse movies seem a little shoe horned in, Bobba Fett being a good example, but this will keep the fan boys happy. The final scene as we see the fleet taking off to start the Clone wars is very powerful, even more so with the added menace of the Imperial March being added to the music score. This is nowhere near in the same class as THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, but is a much more satisfying movie than episode one.
Could of been better

I hate to be negative about Star Wars films but I feel this is the worst one out of the 6 films. It just lacked something to make that film special, instead it was more the linking film between the first and the third. Netherless it is worth a watch.
now things are getting better!

ok, phantom menace wasnt all that. jar jar binks, along with wooden acting spoilt it. now things are getting better in attack of the clones.great action sequences, better acting, and far less of jar jar.
Awesome

Watched Phantom Menace and although it was good, not the greatest Star Wars ever. Watched this the other day and was gripped to it for the whole film. Everything about this film is awesome, especially the scene inside the stadium whjere all the Jedis are being attacked by the droids! I placed this in my top 5 films but when i thought about it, i couldn't actually name a better one! The best ever!
Should have had more...

This is a good film, we see the evil and anger growing inside Anakin, and perhaps this is not fulfilled in Revenge of the Sith, with him becoming evil not through anger, but to protect Padme. As to as it is, there should have been more of the story played out, even if it added 10 minutes on to the film. For example, Padme becomes pregnant shortly after thier wedding, and we are left on the cliff hanger of, how will they keep thier secret? Lucas could have even added Anakin's vision of Padme dieing in child birth. It just seemed the film ended too calmly for what comes next in Episode III.
This IS a good film, it keeps the story going, we learn about the full corruption of the Senate, but there should have been more damning events than just Anakin falling in love.
Much Better

compared to Ep1 this movie seems a bit more character driven, the story is superior to Phantom Menace and an all round better effort, the great effects still remain but the story and characters dont suffer for this as much
Hmm strong with the force you are hmm

Three years on and the story of Anakin Skywalker's rise and fall continued in 'Attack of the Clones' a film that, whilst superior to 'The Phantom Menace' still failed to capture the excitement and genius of Lucas' original trilogy. But it certainly got a lot more things right this time. Lifelong fans were obviously catered for with the introduction of Jango Fett and his son Boba with a subplot detailing the genesis behind one of the original trilogys favourite characters. The tone was a lot darker this time with a certain Mr. Binks relegated to a mere supporting role and the introduction of the masterful Christopher Lee as Count Dooku resulted in a genuinely menacing villain. Sadly, there was still a lot wrong, namely the burgeoning 'romance' between Amidala and Anakin. Though Anakin was portrayed by Hayden Christensen this time round instead of the irritating Jake Lloyd from the previous installment Lucas' clunky dialogue stood out like a sore thumb and made for scenes that felt a little too 'amateur dramatics' at times. Again, the CGI effects were outstandingly good (especially in the arena fight finale) but again the over-reliance on CGI wizardry meant the whole thing tended to smack of overkill. Still, it was undeniably enjoyable fare with fans anticipation growing as Anakin took a further step towards the Dark Side and Yoda got to kick ass like never before. Like 'The Phantom Menace' the DVD is an exercise in style with fantastic animated menus leading to a wealth of special features that make this DVD an essential purchase for your DVD collection. Just don't expect anything to match the original trilogy, this is cetainly enjoyable, slick, stylish and exciting but it is also, sadly, hollow, empty and lifeless at times. And even worse, with only one more chance at redemption lifelong fans feared that George Lucas wouldn't be able to deliver for Episode III...
