Hilariously funny, great story and exellent acting!! I would definetely recomend this film as a one to own and at the that price, it just cant be beaten.

Watched this with my guy mate. We both enjoyed it. Made him think about how shallow he can be when it comes to us girls! Generally funny, good light entertainment for a night in :)

Jack Black = comedy genius.
Very good film, it's the sort of film you can watch over and over again.
Very funny, sometimes not so funny, but Jack Black is a master of comedy, when will he stop being funny?
And even with a spell on him how can he see someone that big, to be that thin.
Any way good storyline and just good in nearly every way.

Shallow Hal basically sums up this brilliant film, Hal who only looks for perfection in ladies gets stuck in a lift with a self-help guru who hypnotises him into seeing the inner beuty in woman. This helps and Hal meets the girl of his dreams. This is packed with comedy and jokes, very funny.

Ok, so ideally you've got a good plot here. Shallow Hal who can't score with the ladies gets hynotised to only be able to see the inner beauty in the opposite sex. Sounds good when you put it like that, but this film does have a lot of I've-heard-and-seen-it-all-before moments, as well as quite a few plot holes which makes it hard to follow. The acting is ok, nothing special. However, if you like the light-hearted comedies that don't require the use of many brain cells, then go for this.
