Acclaimed filmmaker Tim Burton brings to life the true and hilarious story of Ed Wood (Johnny Depp), the wackiest and worst movie director of all time. When Ed Wood pulls together his ragtag band, including has-been horror star Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau), a cross-dressing actor named Bunny (Bill Murray) and Ed's no-talent girlfriend (Sarah Jessica Parker), bad moviemaking and hilarious hijinx follow! Ed Wood refuses to let minor setbacks like unfinished scenes, terrible reviews or hostile studio executives get in his way as he pursues his dreams of making it big in Hollywood!

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp team up for what is probably my favourite film that they have done together. This is a terrific performance from Johnny Depp and it is clear that the film is close to Tim Burtons heart as he treats every second of film like it matters. The film is well polished and stylishly made like most of his films.
There is quite a few big name actors and actresses involved here in roles that you usually wouldn't see them in. Sarah Jessica Parker, Patricia Arquette and Bill Murray to name a few.
I had never heard of Ed Wood before watching this film, I now understand why anybody trying to make independent films knows of him. The film does testiment to his obvious passion and drive.
This is one of just two films to ever receive maximum points from me (the other being The Shawshank Redemption). Ed Wood is a fantastic film based around the life of one of my favourite directors, Edward D. Wood Jr., starring my favourite actor, Johnny Depp, and directed by another one of my favourite directors, Tim Burton. Arguably, Burton is the greatest director ever, but thats just my opinion. Ed Wood is moving in more ways than one, captivating at the films ironic originality, and once you see the films depicted in the film (Glen or Glenda, Bride of the Monster and Plan 9 From Outer Space, all by Wood and all of which I own), you will see some of the dramatic irony and in-jokes that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. If your looking for a great film, by this, but make sure you by the 3 aforementioned films sooner or later, to get the most of this brilliant picture.
A most see ull never see anything like it very funny an a good crack sit back an enjoy
This film is fantastic. Its up to Burtons standards and Johnny Depps interpretation of Ed Wood, the lousy film maker, is exeptional.
The movie takes a little getting used to as it is all shot it black and white. However its worth seeing, especially if youre a fan of Burton and depp creations.
I would definately recommend this movie. Although Its more of a nice quiet nice in movie..
so dont expect a guy to sit through it
while you swoon over Depp!!
Tim Burton's biopic of eccentric B-Movie director Ed Wood is top entertainment.
Martin Landua is outstanding in his Oscar winning role of Bela Lugosi while Depp, Bill Murray, Jeffrey Jones and others excel in equally rewarding roles.
Its zany, off the wall and creative, harking back to days of yonder and those famous or rather infamous B-movies from the 1950's.
An excellent film.
