  A wasted story

| | See all DiamondsAreForever's reviews (459)

This should have been a fantastic blockbuster because in theory, the story sounds great. But mediocre acting, poor direction and confusing dialogue make for a bad movie. Kate Bekinsale does her best to hold it together but doesn't quite manage to pull the story together. I was left feeling confused and rather deflated after watching this movie. One for the car boot sale me thinks.

  a wasted oportunity

This would have been a big bore fest if only it wasn't for the immeasurable beauty of Ms Beckisdale. The story was limp & such a let down from what the trailer suggested. A really bad & lack of use of the geographical environment which could have been used for so much more.
You'll see it all coming, you'll not really care & you'll switch it off feeling a little cheated. Such a waste

  About Average Thriller

| | See all GermanEskimo's reviews (200)

A perfectly watchable thriller, Beckinsale holds her own with reasonably competent acting support, wont win any awards but for a cheap thriller you dont want to tax your mind too much with it is spot on, well done special effects with the snow also, nothing special so get when this is on the cheap and you shouldnt be disappointed.

  Mystery, Antarctica!

| | See all Kevin1075's reviews (754)

As B-movie thrillers go it's not the best film ever made and it isn't the worst, and depending on what you're in the mood for then it might be worth a watch.

Kate Beckinsale is usually watchable enough and here is no exception amidst a story which finds her U.S Marshall Carrie Stetko investigating the first ever murder on the continent of Antarctica.

It's pretty predictable and nothing earth -shatteringly new happens but then you can say that about a fair few films. So taken on it's own as a Friday night 'turn the brain off' flick then it (just about) passes muster.

I would wait til it's on sale though before buying.

  Poor & Predictable

| | See all siggywba's reviews (26)

I managed to get hold of this movie after my friend brought it.
It's very poorly done & as no sense of excitement whatsoever.

With the snow showers/storm in this film covering up most of the scenes, its hard to know what's going on most the time.

This could have been so much better.

The only good moment about this movie is when Kate Beckinsale is in the shower

Apart from that its utter drivel

  "..ICE COOL THRILLER.."

| | See all sdx800's reviews (1814)

If you love a good thriller which has a great story and a mysterious plot with some edge of your seat suspense then you should love this film, it has all these elements along with a great cast and fantastic locations! One of the best elements of the movie is the whole snow and ice sets and locations they look fantastic! Its a good gritty who done it thriller and if your into those kind of movies then look no further. The film does have a few short extras that are not bad! The best being the fact the movie is based on a graphic novel and comic book. You would never really guess. Worth a watch.

  Good afternoon's viewing,

Quite an entertaining but not outstanding, movie, Kate Beckinsale as Marshall Stetko plays a good part as does Tom Skerritt as the doctor, As it stands the plot is reasonable but predictable and puts me in mind of films with a similar story.

  WATCHABLE

| | See all OBSESSEDWITHFILMS's reviews (416)

This is a watchable thriller the plot is okay there is nothing new here that has not been done before in other films but this thriller is still worth watching.
Kate Beckinsale looking as beautiful as ever here will no doubt pull in the male viewers here she plays a U.S Marshal in charge of Antarctica when a body turns up in the snow she as just 3 days to find the murderer before Antarctica is plunged into darkness for 6 months.
The film as a decent story line the plot moves at a decent pace and the film is only 96 minutes long so it does not drag the plot out for to long. In closing worth watching as there are worse films out there the ending is the only down side for me it was a little bit weak and could have been slightly stronger.

I was pleasantly suprised, not really any huge stars in it but the acting is top notch and the plot isnt any thing new but it doesnt stop it from being a wicked thriller.

  Worth a watch

Beckinsale will draw the viewing from all red blooded males anyhow but this film is worth a look. It's only 1hr 36m long so I don't understand others saying it drags.

Suspense is provided and it has a proper start , middle and end. In other words a good story. Only draw back was there's no skin tight clothes for Beck :(
