Not often you say that about a thriller or horror film these days but this is an excellent little thriller with a small but excellent cast. It keeps you gripped and guessing all the way through and I thought the ending was perfect. It doesn't hurt that Christina is naked for 90% of the movie ;)

I just Cant stop thinking about it!!!!

  Interesting Thriller

After.Life is strictly a thriller, its packaged like a horror and perhaps classed as a horror but really this is a psychological thriller, a movie which get you thinking, and makes you want to get to the end.
The story is clever and original, the idea of a world between life and death, that place before going into the light. But, as our leading lady must work out, is she really in heaven's waiting room or is she actually still alive.
The performances are fairly flawless but at times, Christina Ricci is a little wooden, her acting seems false and not genuine enough for the role.
The main problem with the story is timing and some parts of the writing, despite it only being around 100minutes it feels long. Also, at times the story seems like it's going nowhere, you can't see it progressing at all.

Overall: After.Life is an interesting movie, it's worth a watch but it isn't a classic. There's a lot of good in here but the there's also a few bads, at times the story really falls flat and you almost want to turn off, but there's just enough there to keep you watching till the end.

  A mysterious thriller

I was surprised that a movie with three big names didn't get to the cinemas. Didn't really know what to expect from this one. The story begins with a young teachers' (Ricci) untimely demise. She wakes up to discover herself on the slab in a funeral directors home, convinced that she's not dead. The funeral director (Neeson) has a gift of being able to talk to the dead... The script is good, acting as well. The story becomes a little sloppy in places, but is ultimately worth watching - but don't expect a gore horror. Its a psychological thriller that keeps you guessing from start to finish. The twist is easy to spot if you know what to look for, but still manages to catch you out at the end. A good film, if you don't take it too seriously.

This is a thriller, not a horror

I'm mystified by some of the negative reviews I've seen for this movie. Perhaps people were expecting a horror film? That's not at all what After.Life aspires to be. It's a thriller with supernatural elements. And the criticisms of ambiguity are even more baffling. If you're capable of paying a moderate amount of attention while watching, the events of the movie and the ending are quite clear.

While the film did have a few editing errors, the dialgoue was occasionally clunky, and some people may be put off by some of the questionable decisions that Anna makes, I thought this was a solid movie. The premise was interesting, and I always find Christina Ricci to be a fine actress, when given decent material. There were points in the movie where I was actually riveted. I'll admit that After.Life requires you to keep your suspension of disbelief handy, but I thought it was well worth the effort.

I passionately recommend that anyone who's interested gives After.Life a try. Just please be warned, I repeat, this is NOT a horror movie. Some people may feel that it's slow-paced, but I never found it to be even slightly dull. The pace suited the story perfectly. Most importantly, you have to pay attention if you want to avoid the confusion that so many people seem to have inexplicably suffered from.

  "..BRILLIANT FINE CRAFTED THRILLER.."

This is a fantastic little film, a great thriller! This is exactly what you need to keep you deeply engrossed in a good story with plenty to keep you thinking about throughout the whole 99 minutes! There is kind of a twist in the story or more like two twists it depends which way you interpret the film by the time it ends! Very well directed and the cast was great!! This movie does not deserve the negative comments, its not a big budget action film its a beautiful little thriller with a good creepy story that deserves to be seen. The features are limited but there is a good informative commentary and a short making of.
