this film started off ok first 15 mins then slowly declined into ridiculous rubbish, was loads of snippets pinched from films like evil dead and wrong turn2 but is really bad quality, then the CG bit comes into play and i just lost intrest for the last 40 mins, tries to be all new and trendy but is just copying stuff done 100 times before but 100 times worse.

  New wave horror revival!

| | See all Rocklee's reviews (13)

At last a horror film worthy of the genre! From the start this film wrenches itself away from the crowd by openly twisting some of the tired old cliches, the jock (who is bright and intelligent), the 'sexy' girls (who are both intelligent and forward thinking, with no nonsense attitudes) and the 'wasted stoner' (who is a philosophical and sociological genius, as well as a damn fine comedian!). This film is a shining example of what editing should be like, moving seamlessly along at a very pleasing pace. The premise is one of the most original and perfectly executed I have seen in the genre, and the action is well balanced with character building. Each cast member showing you something that will warm your heart towards them and make it almost 'difficult' when they are slain! Of course this movie stars Marvel super hero THOR (Chris Hemsworth) and his performance is both touching and comedic in parts. For me the whole film was a joy to behold, and to be honest, I am not sure what the other reviewers were watching but I have watched this film 5 or 6 times now, and I love it every time! Seriously, take some advice from a hard core horror movie fan and give this a go...you won't regret it!

This movie is so random and good. one that the horror genre hasn't seen in a long while! definitely worth a watch, although totally unrealistic it is well made and has a good story line,.

  breath of fresh air!

i cant understand the negative reviews, the horror industry has been crying out for something different and this is it! i think some people have been a bit narrow minded expecting this to be your typical horny teens go to a cabin in some scary woods and get chopped into little pieces, do some people honestly still want that?people are moaning about the acting, so what, did you honestly expect the actors oscar worthy in a film like this?the acting took nothing away from this film for me beause it wasnt important whether it was good or not,i just wanted something different and entertaining and i got both, what a great change from all the same old rubbish that keeps getting spewed out!

  Absolute rubbish

Far from Perfect but A Unique, and Clever, Spin on the Genre

If you're a fan of Josh Whedon chances are you'll enjoy this film. It's far from perfect but it's unique spin on the horror genre certainly kept me entertained from start to finish.

  I've seen worse

| | See all juebags's reviews (6)

Was thinking this film would be like most 'cabin in the wood' films, where a bunch of people go to a cabin and get killed by strange looking people and that is usually the end of the film, but at least this one has a bit of a twist on the norm type of film, its a bit bizzar in places. Its an ok film, but horror films i'm sure are just getting worse with not really much horror in them and they are just becoming predictable. what happened to the hide behind the sofa films, where you jump out of your skin and the popcorn flys everywhere. If you want something a bit different then this is an ok film to watch as long as you don't expect to much.
