To know Lloyd Dobler is to love him. Diane Court is about to know Lloyd Dobler.
In this charming, critically acclaimed tale of first love, Lloyd (John Cusack), an eternal optimist, seeks to capture the heart of Diane, an unattainable high school beauty and straight-A student (Ione Skye). He surprises just about everyone - including himself - when she returns the sentiment. But Diane's over-possessive, divorced dad (John Mahoney) doesn't approve and it's going to take more than just the power of love to conquer all.

John Cuscak is absolutley adorable as he is in most of his films. This is such a wonderful film which has all the right ingredients for a classic 80's film. The famous Boom Box scene is something that will stick with you. The acting in the film is great and once you see it you'll want to see it again and again.
i can't believe this film isn't already rated!

The tagline reads 'To know Lloyd Dobbler is to love Lloyd Dobbler.' This couldn't be truer, my friends ranted on at me about this film for ages before I chose to watch it, and I wish I had a lot sooner, this instantly became my favourite film, I have watched this over and over, John Cusack has become my favourite actor, he plays awkward nice guy Dobbler perfectly, Skye is also brilliant as the beautiful school 'brain.'
For fans of general 80s love films, or more modern love films such as 'The Notebook' this film really is a classic, it's completely memorable, and leaves us wishing we had a Lloyd to stand outside our window with a boom box!
I couldn't recommend this film more it really is perfect!
