This was the Davison era at it's best and worst, the story is a mess, it goes from one complex aspect to another. The Daleks are satisfactory, darker than they were back in the previous story (Destiny of the Daleks), the good bit? Davros and the Doctor, the interplay between these two characters is wonderful to watch, with the Doctor, who is really pushed to his moral limits in the story.
A shout out to Janet Fielding as well, whose final scene is just wonderful, brave heart Tegan!

Daleks return dragging the ever decaying form of Davros behind them. Classic Dalek story and almost any story with the Daleks in is worth having.
This show also sees the departure of Tegan, for those of us that were irriated by her and were glad to see her go we just didn't realise that Bonnie Langford was waitng around the corner for us.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Action packed if confusing!

A dalek story is always a notable event in the Doctor Who calendar and this one is no exception. On the surface it presents a polished production with good effects and action packed set pieces.
The story is a little confusing and raises a few 'whys?' Why did they do that? However, on saying that, there is a real feeling of tension and excitement throughout the four episodes.
The regulars are on top form with Tegan possibly giving the best performance of her time with the Tardis. The final scene being particularly well done and poignant.
A good addition with some very interesting extras on the dvd which should keep die hard fans happy - well it kept me happy!!
Buy it and enjoy it as a piece of good television drama.
