  Hilarious and Original British Comedy

| | See all SingingCathy's reviews (9)

'Peep Show' is without a doubt, one of the funniest, most intelligent British Comedies in a long time.

Written brilliantly by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, 'Peep Show' follows the lives of two flatmates with very contradictiory personalities; Mark (Mitchell), a socially-inept Stalingrad enthusiast, and Jez (Webb), a sex-obbsessed wannabe musician.

To differentiate it further from the current swarm of mediocre television comedy, the series uses unique point-of-view camera shots to take the viewer into the minds of the lead characters: a technique which only adds to the hilarious comedy that is presented throughout these first three series of what is set to become a TV classic.

Without the shadow of a doubt one of the funniest shows ever

From Mitchell and Webb, this show follows the lives of two guys Jeremy and Mark as the two get into ridiculous situations which they try and invariably fail to get out of with any sort of credability.
This show is worth it's weight in gold. If you're a teenager, I do NOT recommend watching it with you're parents, by the way. It's not reeeealy a family show, like the Simpsons, say as there's a bit of casual swearing.
It is a fantastic show, and I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Best TV comedy since Alan Partridge

Fantastic. Clever and funny with great performances from the leads and not forgetting the brilliant supporting cast - especilally Jez's drug-addled idiot of a mate Super Hans and Mark's cliche-speaking Boss "Johnson". It's excrutiating at times as Mark, yet again, bungles his way through trying to impress his co-worker Sophie. Genius.

  Peep Show! £17.99

OMG well 1st of the whole peep show thing is absolutely amazing and funny. Marks love life is so funny and jez's music career is equally pathetic. Hilarious when they eat mummy the dog lol and the classic when jez takes over the pub. Now 2nd of all. i was thinking of buying this as it is so funny i went down to my local "Bigname" game/dvd seller and they have it in ther for £30+ pounds so i dont know where there getting the £29.99 RRP from so the £17.99 is just amazing value for money too!

  very funny and well produced

This is probably the best £15 i have ever spent! Once you get into the Peep show you cant stop watching, the only downside is each series is too short. Trust me you will not be disappointed with this purchase but it now!

  Funniest thing on TV

Having just completed a fourth series, it has to be said that Peep Show is definitely the funniest thing on TV. Mitchell and Webb's execution of the hilarious script is superb. I was hooked from series 1, and this box set is worth every penny (its a bargain price too).

Best British Comedy In A Long Time

Amongst all the complete rubbish on TV nowadays, especially the appalling, uninspired dreck that passes for comedy, this stands out as a diamond in the rough. Peep Show is absolutely hilarious, a work of genius that just gets better and better. If your a more discerning viewer who enjoys genuinely great programming then this is for you, it's the best show the lamentable channel 4 has produced in years. An absolute must-buy for anyone with an iota of taste.

More to it than just a gimmick.

A comedy about sex and relationships, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring and irritating like 'Sex in the City'. After all, 'Men Behaving Badly' was all about such matters - and this comedy, despite being on Channel 4, is more akin to the Simon Nye style, than say something as annoying as 'Coupling'. Mitchell & Webb do their usual nerd / slob double act, which suits the material very well. So, if you like what you've seen of M&W's other work then you'll like this too.
