Alfred Hitchcock's landmark masterpiece of the macabre stars Anthony Perkins as the troubled Norman Bates, whose old dark house and adjoining motel are not the place to spend a quiet evening. No one knows that better than Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), the ill-fated traveller whose journey ends in the notorious "shower scene". First a private detective, then Marion's sister (Vera Miles) searches for her, the horror and the suspense mount to a terrifying climax where the mysterious killer is finally revealed.

It took seven days to shoot the shower scene, seventy camera setups for the forty-five seconds of this now famous footage - and not an actual bare breast or plunging knife is to be found in the final cut, just illusion through montage.

Psycho (1960) - *****
Possibly the greatest horror film ever made, Psycho's infuriatingly simple plot contains one of the most memorable twists of all time. Filmed in black and white on a minimal budget, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho is a must see for everyone. Starring an iconic Janet Leigh and the wonderfully nervous Anthony Perkins.

 Classic Horror....

Filmed in black and white with a low budget Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho is unique piece of film making. The film follows confused office worker Marion who seeks refuge at a motel run by an odd yet charismatic Norman Bates but his over powering Mother has other plans!!
This film doesnt have special effects, bug budget or lots of gore. Instead it relies on suspense, dialogue, camera work and some very well thought out complex characters. The film has also aged well considering its fifty years old. Only dated due to the fact it has influenced almost every horror since! A true classic.

 Great film

This edition includes little extra notes as bonus material, so not that much different from any other editions. I am however very pleased with it. Great buy.
