Based on the legendary Marvel Comics series, Peter Parker has finally managed to strike a balance between his devotion to M.J. and his duties as a superhero. But there is a storm brewing on the horizon. When his suit suddenly changes, turning jet-black and enhancing his powers, it transforms Peter as well, bringing out the dark, vengeful side of his personality that he is struggling to control.
Under the influence of the suit, Peter becomes over confident and starts to neglect the people who care about him most. Forced to choose between the seductive power of the new suit and the compassionate hero he used to be, Peter must overcome his personal demons as two of the most feared villains yet, Sandman and Venom, gather unparalleled power and a thirst for retribution to threaten Peter and everyone he loves.

This film could have been so much more. Here's the nails in the coffin:
Mary Jane turns into such a whiny spoilt kid, you begin to wonder why Peter even bothers with her.
Harry loses memory then gets it back again? Why?
Eddie Brock is no longer a big burly bloke but is now some whiny kid.
Peter gets his black suit and starts to become a whiny kid too. Although I did like his anger, but they didn't show enough of it.
Venom. Oh God. My second favourite spidey villain got molested by this director. He's now roughly the same size as spiderman, has the same voice as Brock [Where's the hissing?] and doesn't look nearly as scary.
I would only recomend this film to fellow people who really hate MJ and love JJ. Because Pete smacks her in the face and JJ is always awesome.
Don't bother

Bits of the film seem OK but then comes Peter Parkers silly street walk and cafe dance. This just killed this film for me.
Watched this again recently and it seemed better, hence the increase in stars from 1 to 3. Just can't go higher due to the silly walk bit !!
ENTERTAINING FILM BUT LOSING ITS WAY A BIT

Compared to the brilliant first film these last two dont compare. For me the main problem with this film was Peters best friend Harry takes on his fathers Green Goblin role to take Spiderman down but forgives him for his fathers incidental death and teams up with Spiderman to fight off 2 more villains (Vemon & Sand Man). Also i think they go a little too much to Peter and MJs love story which keeps the plot slow at times. Apart from these problems it is still enjoyable and well worth a watch. Enjoy
