This might not be quite as good as Anchorman, but it does have it's brilliant comedy moments.
Imagine Days of thunder, but played for laughs.
Although this is a comedy, there is some fantastic car carnage, that even manages to steal, Tom Cruses Thunder. The film is not without it's faults as the film does loose some of it's momentum in the middle. But when the film is funny it fires on all cylinders.
The film does deserve a second viewing, as after the first time I watched it, I was left a little cold, but on second and third viewing, the film did hit the comic goal.
The best scene has to be when Ricky Bobby is praying to Tom Cruse to save him.
As a fast paced comedy, this movie is a winner!

This is as it says on the dvd case: " The best daft comedy since Dodgeball", this is absoloutley true. It is a very funny film with lots and lots of crude jokes and humour from the start. Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is a Nascar pit man who volunteers to take over the job as the team driver, he takes over with one thing on his mind and that is winning. With the help of his freind Cal Naughton, Jr (John C. Reilly) he soon becomes the best Nascar racer and has the life many of us dream of. Just when he thinks that he will never be beaten along comes a French F1 driver Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen) to come and test Ricky Bobby to his limit.
Perfect For Will Ferrell Fans

Talladega Nights may be brash, unbridled, even unhinged, but its humor is rich in parody, and its craftsmanship is superb -- smart writing, shrewd direction, inventive language, inspired silliness, precisely calibrated performances and all-but-flawless timing .. it's an irresistible combination.
Good

Really good comedy.
The twosome really work well together. Both of them give the scenes some real comic dynamism.
The plot is solid, the humour funny (thank god) and the ending makes you feel good.
Watch it.
love love love it!!

Subscribing to the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' school of thought, Ferrell and McKay followed on the inspired Anchorman with essentially the same tale set in the world of NASCAR. Yet despite the same oddball humour and Ferrell's undeniable screen presence, this effort never quite shifts into Top Gear and remains only sporadically amusing.
Perhaps part of the problem is that the film is that there is nothing new on show. The rise fall rise story is on that you'll have seen countless times before, or that whilst Anchorman's protagonists where a breath of fresh air, Talladega's are cliched. Perhaps it's just because Steve Carrol isn't present. There are redoubtably some great moments, such as the scenes talking about Jesus round the dinner table or Sacha Baron Cohen's entrance. Overall, this is one for Ferrell's fans rather than casual observers.
Excellent Laugh Out Loud

This is a classic. There are laughs a plenty, and I can't imagine why one reviewer slates it by saying "ferrell just plays an egotistical American idiot" yeah he does but thats the whole point.
This is one of the funniest films I've seen, right up there with Party Party the 80's classic.
There are only two types of people who wouldn't laugh at this - dead people and Germans.
Shake n Bake baby
Tis a rather amusin film

Well looking at the other reviews its clearly obvious people only like this movie because will ferrell is in it, but after watchin it myself i personally think the other reviewers force themself's to like it because will ferrell is in it. out of all his films ive seen it is by far the worse, the random comedy just doesnt work in this movie, i just think theyve tried to hard to make Ferrell funny in this movie, and it doesnt work. Ferrell just doesnt seem like the Will Ferrell everybody loves in this film, he just plays an american egotistic idiot. 1/10
