We all know what happened on that day in September 2001. The world is a different day since. But what many don't know is the story of two of the survivors of the world trade center. Call it luck, call it fate. But these two guys managed to survive after the towers came down around them ! This movie shows what a good actor Cage can be in the right movie. After the shoddy Ghost Rider and the terrible Next, I suggest you watch this, just to put your faith back in the actor. This is a very moving and well made movie, that balances the story of the survivors and the family equaly. This is a good movie that never falls into the dreaded realms of soap oparah, but the film no matter how worthy never gripps the way it should, so you come away entertained but slightly underwhelmed. This is still a good companion to the Far superior United 93.
World Trade Center may have it's faults, but is still worth watching!

 A PEACH OF A FILM !!!

I watched this film yesterday (Sunday) and it was excellent!! Stunning performance from Nic Cage as John Mcloughlin, one of the rescued policemen.

Both John and Will were advisors on the film and it shows, this is as realistic as it gets, you really get into the movie through the eyes of the characters.

The second disc contains all the extras and this shows the usual cast and crew but goes much further, many of the real personel from the rescue were used in and around the making of this film, the scenes where John and Will are trapped are especially good with it being as real as possible with scale etc.

Yet again another brillant film from Oliver Stone and i enjoyed it immensely!!

Verdict.- Worth buying for the extras alone- Highly recommended!!

Two good cops, one bad situation

This is the second film released in 2006 about the attack on America on September 11th, 2001. The film is based on the true personal story of two real life cops, who got trapped beneath the ruins the day World Trade Center was destroyed, and what a story! It is a story about the will to survive and about helping each other in difficult times. It could very easily have become a story which was all too "Hollywood", but the maestro Oliver Stone has made a film which catches you emotionally from the first moment. It opens with a beautiful picturing of how New York woke up on an ordinary day, which turned into a nightmare.

The film as a story is emotionally strong, but the film as a film doesn't turn out as well as UNITED 93. WORLD TRADE CENTER is more a "search and find" film just using 9/11 as starting point; after 30 minutes focus moves completely from the attack itself to the after-effects. But it doesn't make the film boring or bad; thinking of 9/11 and the true tragic incident of the two cops just makes the experience even stronger.

This double special edition DVD is simply great. It contains extremely much material about the two cops and the dark day itself. This edition is definitely worth the extra bugs.

A brilliant commerative film to the many brave people who died on that faitfull day!!
Directed by the great Oliver Stone in 2006 this shows how things actually were back in sep 11 2001 and shows the massive impact that it had on the many emergency services of New York City!!
With a gripping story full of tension and disbelief, packed with brilliant actors such as Nicholas Cage and Jay Hernandez this is a fantastic film that must be seen!!!
