Jet Li takes on the role of real life martial artist Huo Yuanjia, it shows his growing up, his want to be the best, his fall and his climb back to the top. It's an inspirational story, it's the tale of wanting all the wrong things but becoming wise enough to realise what you should have been chasing. It's filled with great Chinese Philosophy and might just make you think differently about your own life. Jet Li is the start, his acting shows range with both moments of joy and misery. The fighting is of the highest quality, great battles with fast hands and the occsional use of traditional weapons. A movie for Martial Arts fans, and a movie for lovers of deep stories. One of the best Modern Day Martial Arts Movies. Must See
somehow historical but certainly also romantisized, this movie tells the story about the wushu-tradition within the oriental martial arts scene.
with a good story, good acting, jet li in a leading and deserved role, flashy martial arts scenes, ... this movie certainly delivers. not to be overlooked when you're into martial arts movies.
This films is easily one of my favourite films. I have pretty much all Jet Li's films and this is up there at the top with 'Fist of Legend'. Always makes me feel good about myself whenever I watch it. Great fight scenes and worth every penny and more! Some good History into Huo Yuanjia, not entirely accurate, but what film is lol. Great acting, great fighting, great alround! If you don't buy this - your not a martial arts fan!
I bought this some time ago, but, it's definitely one of the best martial arts movies I've seen - infact, it's probably one of the best movies FullStop that I've seen. Great action throughout and great story line. There's real emotion in this movie which makes it even better and more enjoyable.
