The men of Bravo Company are facing a battle that's all uphill... up Hamburger Hill. Fourteen war-weary soldiers are battling for a mud-covered mound of earth so named because it chews up soldiers like chopped meat. They are fighting for their country, their fellow soldiers and their lives. War is hell, but this is worse. Hamburger Hill tells it the way it was, the way it really was. It's a raw, gritty and totally unrelenting dramatic depiction of one of the fiercest battles of America's bloodiest war. Dodge the gunfire. Get caught behind enemy lines. Go into battle beside the brave young men who fought and died. Feel their desperation and futility. This happened. Hamburger Hill - war at its worst, men at their best.

There has been some great vietnam war films like apocalypse now, platoon and casualties of war.Sadly this is not in the same league. It's still an ok film but i would reccomend renting it,cos once you've seen it once you wont have any desire to sit through it again.

Top 10 DVD Reviewer

On the 11th of may 1969, troops of the 101 airborne division engaged the enemy at the base of Hill 937 in the Ashau Valley.
Ten days and eleven bloody assaults later, the troops who fought there called it Hamburger Hill.
This is the forgotten gem of the wave of vietnam war movies in the mid- late 80's. This film is often overlooked by the likes of Platoon and Full Metal jacket. But this film is almost in the same class. Hamburger Hill is raw-bones , red in tooth and claw, that gets as close to the matter of young men in war as it is possible to imagine. The film is photographed in reistic detail and acted with total conviction. This film is considerably superior to the overrated We Were Soldiers. So don't overlook this film. as we may have been there before , but seldom with such power and style. This is one hell of a war film in every sense. A must buy for any war movie fan. Excellent !
