Lady In The Water

I didn't watch this film for a long while because everyone who had seen it said it was rubbish, but having watched and enjoyed his other films I just had to see it eventually. Now I am sorry I didn't watch it sooner because I didn't take my eyes off the screen. And it isn't rubbish. Yes it is based on a childrens story and no it doesn't have any major action in it. But it is beautifully written and filmed. The characters are interesting and believable. Bryce Dallas Howard as Story has an ethereal quality about her and the monsters are well done. This is an inspirational story about everyone having a purpose in life. It is a beautifully made, gentle and thoughtful film. Don't watch it if you want action or want to see the good guys going for the monster with anything more than garden rakes.

M. Night shyamalan should have just done the sixth sense and retired. The rest of his movies are rubbish and this is one of the worst.

A beautifully stunning work of pure imagination. One of the best, completely original movies in years.

A disappointing film that will not leave you thrilled. Being a fan of this directors work, I was expecting something much better. I recommend trying Signs or the Sixth Sense if you want a truly terrifying fim by the same director.

after nearly 3 years after its release and general slating by the media i brought a copy.considering the bad press and box office it had i was not looking forward to watching this film-how wrong i was.a truly,truly wonderful,magical tale of loss,love,redemption,hope,friendship and belief.i really cant put into words how good i thought it was.DONT believe the reviews,buy it,watch it,love it.fantastic.
