Inreally don't understand all the negative reviews concerning this film. I really enjoyed the wittiness and the comedy of it. It was a pleasure to watch and I would recommend to fans of superhero movies.

  Not a classic.

This film is enjoyable to watch and has some funny moments in it, but it will never be classed as a cinema classic like Batman and Spiderman. The format has been changed from the 60's series and The Black Beauty (car) is not as cool as the original one, but it's still worth watching. Don't expect a film on the same level as Batman though.

  Better than expected!

I didn't really have any interest in seeing this movie after reading endless amounts of terrible reviews and having never been into the Green Hornet anyway. But I got a copy bought for me for my birthday so I thought I'd give it a try...
Basically, the storyline is like a mish-mash of all the other "Super-Hero" storylines, with a few cliches and racial stereotypes thrown in, some pretty poor character development and a terribly miscast love interest. If you can look past all these faults though, there is still fun to be had.
Skinny Seth Rogen its seems, is just as funny as fat Seth Rogen (who knew?!) and still provides a lot of humour throughout, bouncing off his asian co-star very well and there are a few genuinely laugh-out-loud moments between them. The action is also spot on and provides something we have never really seen before in terms of the fighting sequences, and there is plenty of it which is always good in this kind of film!
The villian isn't particularly interesting or scary but the main focus of the film isn't so much about the villain but the the hero's journey, and at least he won't traumatise the kids!
Overall I would say this is a decent film which the kids will enjoy (beware of some bad language though) it's not going to blow you away with deep meaning, but it does it's job as a family movie!
There is also a brilliant cameo from the awesome James Franco which is worth a watch :)

*The GH (Green Hornet) follows two characters Britt and Kato. Similar to the recent film KickAss, the pair stumbles across their super hero status by chance. Britt exploits his recently inherited Newspaper to promote the heroes, known as The Green Hornet!!
*The GH is similar to recent films like KickAss, Red and Scott Pilgrim. The GH uses a humorous approach to the super hero genre. The GH has some funny moments, some great action and great effects. It would make a good film to watch with friends, as the story is quite easy to follow.
*Unfortunately the film isnt as well made as it could be. More could have been made of the story. If you take away the special effects the film has little real substance.

More in the style of "Kick Ass", a serious super-hero movie this is not. Mind you, as a work mate of mine said, it's about a grown man and his Chauffeur who put on masks and pretend to be baddies so that they can fight crime, OF COURSE it's a comedy. For the type of movie it is, I loved it. Action, gadgets, The Black Beauty (surely, the coolest car to ever grace the silver screen), great fight scenes and Kato (even cooler than the car!) Don't watch if you want intricate plot lines or shakespearean level acting, but if you want almost two hours of action/comedy/ superheroes, get this.

,p,s Even though this is a 12 cert, there is a certain amount of mentioning of bottoms and excrement (They say *ss and s**t) a lot so be forwarned :-)

Not as good as it could have been

Really not the epic movie it was thought to be. If you want a bum around movie, when you can't decide what to do or watch this is perfect. I had to watch it in two parts because i couldn't concentrate to watch it long enough, it didn't hold my attention at all. The cool parts of the movie had to be Kato, and his gadgets, (especially the half car that drives) to be honest Seth Rogans character was utterly pointless, he didn't portray the Green Hornet, as he could have. Dissappointing to say the least!!!!.

This is one of the coolest films of the year with a fantastic story and one great cast, I wasnt a hundred percent sure about Seth Rogen at first being in such a role but giving the way in which the film has been made he was great casting and very funny as always with his unique humour, Jay Chou was brilliant as Kato & Christoph Waltz was a very cool villain!! This is top class entertainment on every level, its got gadgets, girls, kung-fu fighting, action, comedy and is certainly worth checking out for a night in!!

  major disappointment

this film was a major let down, the clips they showed to promote the film in cinemas made the film look really good but the rest of the film was a let down, seth rogen should stick to comedy as he didnt suit this film, kato is the best thing about the film as he does come across more as the main character, but we do have to remember bruce lee played the original kato in the original show as wouldnt of been as popular if he didnt play as kato which made it become as popular as it did so its no surprise kato comes across more as the main character in this one.overall its ok but its just nothing special, more of a rent film than a buy for your collection dvd.

If you expecting the depth of story, effects and grittyness of the likes of superhero movies such as the new batman series. You will be sorely disapointed. Seth Rogen although a great comedy actor i feel struggled to portray his character as per the comic hero. The effects are amazing and the banter between him and kato is entertaining.Infact i thing the character of kato overshadows rogens attempt to be the lead.Overall if your an action movie fan you will enjoy it.
