I was forced to watch this film by my girlfriend, having never seen any of the previous films (well, to be honest actively avoiding them), and so knowing only the basic structure of the characters and storyline, so I am writing this review purely from a man's perspective, if you are a guy being pressured into watching this drivel by a loved one, perhaps it would be useful to read this review first!
Ok firstly, I was promised a Vampires Vs. Werewolves "War" by the Mrs as well as the blurb on the DVD box, and pretty much all the dialogue throughout the film was predicting "something big", we were also treated to some rediculously cheesey "training" sequences at certain points, in preparation for the "War". This culminated in a "War" between about 20 people, which lasted about 2 and half minutes (through most of which the main characters are hiding in a tent).
The other thing which got on my nerves was the main werewolf love interest, whom I cannot imagine possibly being any more annoying. In literally EVERY scene this guy is in his love for the female lead is all he drones about, to the point where all you want is for him to get killed at some point, and can't help but question why on earth the main female would constantly spend time alone with him... Which possibly would have worked as some kind of "love-triangle" dealio if it would for the fact that Kristen Stewart couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, and therefor you can't really tell if she loves or hates literally anyone in the movie.
The storyline seems to think it's about 10 times more clever than it is, as does the script. Overall there is pretty much nothing good about this film.... If your girlfriend/wife/whoever try to force you to watch this, do yourself a favour, go and do something else.
The 3rd and best movie of the Twilight saga so far.
The romance between Edward,Bella and Jacob is fantastic viewing and the fight scene with the newborn vampires is great!.
David Slade is a brilliant director and has done a good job in capturing Eclipse in so much detail to the book.
I really liked twilight and hated new moon so when i saw eclipse was previewing on the 3rd and 4th i was a bit sceptical about seeing it. However i went along with my friend not expecting much nad i was plesently suprised. There was a lot more cool action sequences. romance and humor than the other films. I also really enjoyed the back storys of Rosalie and Jasper they gave a lot more detail and fleshed out the story a bit more. The cast were generaly a lot better in this film and the new Victoria wa pretty good. Overall the best out of the 3 so far brilliant i completely recommend this film to anyone not just fans of the saga. It has loads of action, romane, humor, drama and a top notch sountrack. I cant wait till its released on dvd.
Considering I am the kind of person to watch anything and find something good about, I was stumped there was nothing redeeming about this disaster of a movie. I have never despised main characters as much as I have in this third installment of Twilight. I really loved the first movie but THIS is horrific. The character of Bella became more and more painful to watch as she persisted with that miserable look she always has. Jacob (who used to be my favourite) became a dribbling pathetic shell of an individual.
I HATE this movie. I want my money back and the hours I spent watching it!
This outing for the crew of Forks is easily the best of the three films thus far but that really isn't saying alot considering what the first two had to offer. The lead characters are miscast and the film often plods along at a poor pace. Many of the action sequence are slightly sub par but mark a significant leap from the first two films. Although sticking closer to the source material this is still a dull and often drippy film thanks to female protagonist. Fans of the book will likely rejoice at more screen time for their over rated objects of obsession but for the rest of the cinematic lovers out there this should be on the list of things to bypass.
