the series is based on a cafe owner called rene and his wife edith .
the cafe plays a huge role in the series; rene hides paintings, a forger and 2 british airmen in the cafe, during which he helps the resistance (french rebels) in feeding infomation. The comedy comes through his personality and how he treats everyone around him. Rene makes the series, big laughs all round!
fantastic television show, worth every penny!
hours of fun.

I love the series but if you are expecting any form of documentations THEN forget it!!

Excellent series but BADLEY let down by the presentation.
