During the 1970's M.A.S.H was not very popular when it was first broadcast, but comedy really does get better with age. I was never a fan to begin with, but after having seen a few episodes, i realised what i had been missing. The quality of the humour and acting is second to none. This 36 disc set is fantastic, you get all 256 episdes, over 3 hours of special features a,d the original M.A.S.H Feature film, directed by the late Robert Altman. All in all, this set is well worth the money, and i guarantee that when you get it home, you wont put it down.
My memory let me down

When I saw for sale all the episodes of M*A*S*H in one collection my memories went back to watching the original broadcasts all those years ago. I just had to buy the set to see if the series was as good as I remembered. It wasn't! It was much much better. How anyone could have produced 250 plus episodes of such consistent exceptional quality is beyond my comprehension. To have the audience constantly crying with sadness and lauging out loud in the same minute was the mark of genius. This was not just in the writing but the acting as well. There wasn't /isn't one poor episode.
To be able to watch every episode without commercials and without that irritating canned laughter the American TV stations inisisted upon (this at just the click of a button) in the order they were originally shown made this viewer very happy.
Not only the episodes but several special programmes of interviews with the stars such as Hawkeye, Hotlips, Radar, Trapper, Clinger etc etc makes for extra enjoyment. Just one word of warning. You must discpline yourself to two episodes at a time otherwise you'll get no sleep or work done.
If I was allowed I'd have given it ten stars
The Ultimate M*A*S*H fans dream.

For M*A*S*H fans this is what you have been waiting for. All 11 series plus bonus material. I waited a long time for this to come out, and i'm so glad i did. The bonus material is fantatstic, you get documentaries, bloopers, optional removal of the laughter track, FAQ's and the sort after Reunion show. I've been searching for the Reunion show for ages and yeah its obviously a scripted show but to get all the surviving members (and only two of the core cast have died (Larry Linvile who passed in 2000 and McLean Stevenson who passed in 1996) together again and that does make you wish for more episodes. The box set is well packaged (it's like a medical file on the outside and a clip board on the inside and the DVD's fit in safely. The episodes are of broadcast quality so there has been no touching up but to be fair the good people at Fox have put done some patch up work on a double episode that was damaged, It's a expensive box set but when you add up 11 years worth of episodes, bonus material and also the M*A*S*H feature film you seriously can't complain.
