Cary Grant plays John Robie, reformed jewel thief who was once known as 'The Cat' in this suspenseful Alfred Hitchcock classic thriller.

Robie is suspected of a new rash of gem thefts in the luxury hotels of the French Riviera, and he must set out to clear himself. Meeting pampered heiress Frances, he sees the chance to bait the mysterious thief with her mother's fabulous jewels.

Really enjoyed this film set in the south of France. Cary Grant is his usual charming sauve self. Grace Kelly is simply stunning. These two are stars in the classic film star sense and shine in this movie. Its an enjoyable caper with a logical ending and believable plot. The colour in this movie is magnificent when you allow for the fact that the movie is from 1955. The double entendre in the dialogue is by today's standards tame but nonetheless enjoyable. Alfred Hitchcock makes his usual appearance in his movies this time on a bus just in case your looking out for him. At just 102 minutes in duration its an enjoyable diversion on an afternoon. Not a classic but nice to see Grant and Kelly together on screen.
