Gavin and Stacey have moved to Wales. Stacey couldn't be happier now she's back with her mum Gwen, her uncle Bryn and a daily diet of omelettes. Gavin on the other hand is adjusting to life in Barry, and although he won't admit it, he's missing his parents Pam and Mick and of course, his best friend Smithy.

Smithy is bereft in Essex without Gav, and is trying to get used to the fact that his son, Neil the baby, is now living in a caravan with mum Nessa and soon-to-be stepfather Dave Coaches.

In the third and final series of this award winning comedy, we find out once again that there's nothing predictable about families and friends...whichever side of the Severn Bridge they live on.

Good but by no means the best

Top 100 Gadgets Reviewer

I came to G&S pretty late via the repeats on BBC3 and last years Christmas special. Having enjoyed every episode, I've watched series three and felt that it was a good idea that JC and RJ ended the series now rather than go for a fourth series.

It's not that the writing is bad, far from it. This is still one of the best comedy series on TV. The problem is coming up with new situations for all the characters to interact in. With s1 and s2, it seemed natural, now if felt slightly forced and contrived. The visits to and from each side of the family, with everyone in tow just seemed wrong, and the series suffered from that.

Yes, this series does deal with more adult situations and that's handled well, but the moments that sparked continuously in the past just didn't appear as often. That aside, the series was enjoyable and I don't regret for a second buying this DVD. I'll watch it again, but not as often as earlier series.

The extras on the additional DVD are also well worth watching, unlike many others. Now, if they decide to make one-off Christmas specials, I think the form of old would return.

 Laughter from start to end!!!

 Gavin & Stacey series 3

What a disappointment, I had been eagerly awaiting the 3rd and final series and couldnt wait to see what happens to some of the best loved characters on TV. Sadly this felt like James Corden and Ruth Jones had run out of ideas and put together a rush job instead of spending the time a quality series like this actually deserved. Too many time filler scenes of parties and too little time spent on the actual story line results in the story being under developed and the whole 3rd series feeling flat and lifeless. There are a few good one liners but these are few and far between and this series lacks the charm and intensity of the previous 2 series and even the Christmas special. I so wanted to fall in love with this final series, but I feel this series has failed in the purpose of leaving them wanting more. A great disappointment.

 best series ever

Gavin and Stacey at its best - fantastic

If you loved the first two series then you will not be disappointed by Series 3 - the final series. This series has some fantastic comedy pieces but also some very tender moments - especially when Gavin and Stacey find out some disturbing news. The interaction between the characters is brilliant as usual. I am so disappointed that this is the end of Gavin and Stacey - the writers of this show are very talented and i only wish they would write more of it. To me, its on a par with friends - but even funnier.
