When a young girl mysteriously disappears, Police Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward) travels to a remote island to investigate. But this pastoral community, led by the strange Lord Summerisle (a brilliant performance by the legendary Christopher Lee), is not what it seems as the devout Christian detective soon uncovers a secret society of wanton lust and pagan blasphemy. Can Howie now stop the cult's ultimate sacrifice before he himself comes face to face with the horror of the Wicker Man?

This is a proper British cult classic! Its a very unique film and you really have to see it to believe it. Watching it you get the sense that the entire film is building up to the now infamous ending. This is basically a film about what people are prepared to do for religion or more generally belief in something. You have got to see it.
Fantastic film

This film is excellent. I have watched it a few times. I dont own it on dvd yet but will buy it when it's my birthday next month. One of those films you can watch over and over again. Edward Woodward is an amazing actor. The ending is worth waiting for.
One of the best!

This is one of the greatest horror films of its time with one of the most horific endings to any film. Christopher Lee plays one of his most memorable roles. Its a shame that Hollywood blew what was a truly remarkable film with a useless remake
