  Well worth the wait

I have been a fan of transformers ever since i can remember, in fact i still own quite a few first gen transformer toys. I have been waiting most of my adult life to see a film that does its predecessors justice and i can quite honestly say that ths film does. There as always slight changes that have been done to the characters but you can forgive that as the action sequences are first rate and the interaction is perfect. i hope i do not have to wait another 20 years to see transformers 2, this film deserves a sequel and maybe more as this story can be continued for as long as there are imaginative people working for the film companies and as long as they stick to the designs and ideas of the original. To close: this summers tagline should not be "Doo" it should be "One will stand and one will fall" and this is the film that will stand

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE !

It has taken over 20 years to bring this to the big screen, and it has been worth the wait ! Some critics may turn there noses up at it saying this is just dumb and stupid. but a film about robots from another planet at war with each other, that also can change into Cars, Planes , Helicopter, Trucks, Tanks. Is a bit hard to swallow, but thats not the point. The film is one big rollercoaster ride. With special effects that will leave your jaw on the floor. The awsome effects remind me of when I first saw Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park on the big screen ,for the first time, they are that impressive. But as we all know effects don't make a movie. The plot is simple, so simple infact you could write it on the back of a postage stamp. Two clans of Transformers at war looking for the ALLSPARK ( there sauce of life that fell to earth thousands of years ago ) but the plot does not need anything else, it just tags the fantastic action together. With Michael Bay directing You know he will deliver the goods. I have never seen so much destruction in such a small space of time. He even out does the The Freeway carnige he created in Bad Boys 2. This is the ultimate summer event movie. In a world thats tearing it's self apart, you could do allot worse than go to the cinema and spend two and a half hours of sheer escapism. As that's what this film is about. See this movie on the big screen and don't wait for DVD release. Excellent eye scorching Entertainment !

  Sheer Autobot Enjoyment

Words cannot describe how much i love this film. It may not be a thought provoking masterpiece, but it is pure summer blockbuster entertainment from beginning to end. And has some of the best Special Effects that ILM has ever produced. Again they have raised the bar for all the other visual effects companies. It may be cliched in corny in places, But that didn't bother me. I just took it for what it was, a fantastic, balls to the wall summer action flick. Great set-up for the sequel aswell. If you love pure unashamed entertainment... I implore you to go see this movie.

If you loved the series as a kid then you have to see this! In my opinion the best sci-fi/action film ever made. If you have never seen the 80's cartoons then this still has something for you! Peter Cullen makes a comeback from the tv series as the voice of Optimus Prime. Two sequels have been confirmed with DreamWorks pictures with even bigger budgets so hopefully they will be even better. Oh and Megan Fox playing Mikaela Banes is smokin' hot!

  Bad Film!

the film is stupid! it does not live up to what it should be, far too much hype! take away the Transformers label and your left with a very lame action film! that lacks plot, character development! even the action scenes are just a mess of zap and blast! nothing original! its clearly aimed at people that are easily pleased by CGI over quailty of script

  Michael Bay's best film

| | See all equilibruim's reviews (40)

Transformers is this year's best blockbuster so far- Michael Bay, the director of "The Rock," both "Bad Boys" and "Armaggedon" has suppast himself here. This is by far his best film with "The Rock" being his second best. This is truly epic in scale as the director manages to make you sympathise with the Autobots, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Okay, it does have some cheesy dialogue and it is probably slightly too long but this film is spectacular and thanks to a truly terrific comedic performance by Shia LeBeuof it has a strong human charectors also. Who am I trying to kid though this was never gonna win a Oscar for screenplay- but it might for the truly remarkable visual effects- ILM did a fantastic job. All in all, awesome action film which shames Pirates 3 and Spiderman 3 which were all hype and no action! Great Film see it now!!!!!
